My kids are much older now. Back when my daughter was born I got a two month diaper service for a gift. I was provided with a bucket to put the soiled{rinsed out} cloth diapers in which they picked up and handed out fresh diapers.I even tried the cloth ones I had to clean myself. What a headache they were. they did not hold in the "pee and Poo"well and had to have a plastic panties that went over them.{I also worried about those diaper pins coming undone} Not worth the trouble. messier than the disposable diapers. Yes the disposable diaper route is way more expensive. i am not thrilled that they are ending up in trash dumps.sorry I guess this is the one way I do not contribute to environmetally friendly activity.

I have tried them but they chafe when you sit in them too long.
trebon1038 05/12/2008
The reason I will never do this is because I don't intend to have kids...but do have friends that did use cloth diapers.
twansalem 05/12/2008
I don't have children, so this item doesn't really apply to me.
cyclee 05/12/2008
Yup yup, and then use the steammy hot water to wash these everyday so you can kill the germs effectively.

I haven't had a kid in diapers in 14 years. And if I have another, there's a doctor who has a lot of explaining to do. And finally, if I reach the grandfather stage, that call is up to my kids and their partners.
blue47 03/18/2007
I do but they laugh at me at work and call me an old fart for wearing them.
Kairho 10/23/2005
No kids so don't have to ever consider this personally. But if I did, this would be going too far. There are some conveniences in today's life which are well worth the price. And those pampers or whatever they are called sound pretty convenient to me.
kamylienne 10/23/2005
Well, I'm not a mommy yet, but I don't see myself doing this. It'd be a hell of a mess. I'm sure it CAN be done. It's been done for a long time before Pampers came along, I know. But, the thought of having to wash those diapers isn't all that appealing. Maybe I'll change my mind when I have kids, but right now, it doesn't seem like that great of an idea.
