I don't think it is necessary to water your lawn. Its only grass, and I don't get why some people have an infatuation with it.

Never water the lawn, nor the pastures. First, there's just too much to do and second, we get plenty of rain during the summer. Having said that, I do have automated drip irrigation on all the landscaping.

(I would if I HAD a lawn) I live in Florida. It rains a lot down here. But, my apartment comples, unfailingly, waters the lawns twice a day, rain or shine. Most of it ends up on the pavement. Yeah, sure, the grass is great, it's a beautiful lawn, but I can't help but to think that they could probably stand to not water the lawn when it's raining. Or at least position the water nozzles better so that so much of the water doesn't go straight onto the parking lots.
