Defender of cartoons in legal trouble, he's the one ex-superhero manbird to see. (Add picture)

Brilliant. Lightning fast humor and wonderful subtle references despite it's over the top manner. Proof that many people out there realized what crap Hanna Barbera cartoons were and how ripe for parody they are.

This along with Aqua Teen Hunger Force are my favorite shows.

It helps to be a certain age to watch this inspired Cartoon Network confection, as it deals primarily with characters and shows from the 60s and 70s Hanna-Barbera vaults. From the scintillating theme song to the closing credits, this is easily THE best made-for-adults animated show going (be honest: the SIMPSONS has lost its *oomph*, and everything else is a pale imitation). Succeeds on too many planes to keep track of (subverts your childhood memories by invading that world with adult concerns, then twists everything around immaturely and concomitantly and leaves you crying for more). The best episodes so far are where Harvey defends Norville "Shaggy" Rogers and his companion Scooby-Doo for "possession", and when Yogi's shorter pal is arrested by ATF agents as the suspected "Unabooboo". Even more fun comes from the supporting cast (from the hustling insincerity of Harvey's intern Peanut to the wacky courtroom antics of Mentok the Mind Taker). My only complaints are that each show is only 13 minutes long, and new ones take forever to appear. Jump all over the DVD collections, as this show is an acquired habit that doesn't "wow" the ratings. No chance of a mistrial when this Adult Swim sensation is in session.
