In one of the medal games in basketball in Munich, the American team was getting its clocked cleaned by the Russians. However, Henry Iba's team came storming back in the second half and had a slight lead with less than a minute to go. It appeared that the Americans had won, not once but twice, when an Olympics official came of the stands and ordered the referees to put a few seconds back on the clock. The Russians inbounded the ball and scored on a layup. To this day, the American players have refused to accept their Silver Medals.
