The only thing I really get from here is the breakfast sandwiches and ice capps occasionally. Other than that nothing else interests me. But I'll give 3 stars for what I do get :)

Tim Horton's coffee is awesome! I am only able to indulge on the weekends, so I savor it.

Reading the comments by the "One Star" group only convinces me that it’s time to just let it go. I worked many years in fast food service and it is what it is. You make some money and move on, go to college, get a better job . . . but just let it go. Not enough can be said about the customer service that I receive from our area Tim Horton’s. Everyone is friendly and practices great customer service. (Incidentally, most of them are also working their way through college.)

They really should have a disclaimer that this should be for reviewing the restaurant - not for every disgruntled employee to come on here and vent.

Review: Timmies is like any other fast food chain. I would certainly put them head and shoulders over McDonald's and the like. As for their coffee - I'd put it on par with Dunkin's. Their donuts are far better than Krispy's. Sandwiches and soups are ok - remember, this is fast food.

For the disgruntled employees - sorry folks, this is cheap, unskilled labour (as is the management) - the franchises can afford good management, so it's hit and miss (same with the labour). If you want first class service and food, then you shouldn't be going to a fast food chain.

Tim Hortons has arrived in New York and, having heard great reviews from some of my Canadian friends, I couldn't wait to try it. Well, I don't see what the fuss is all about. I've never had worse fast food. The only thing that was okay was the breakfast sandwich; everything else that I tried - grilled chicken sandwich, apple pastry, vegetable soup - were awful! I threw the soup away after one spoonful. The sandwich was poor quality and tasteless. The pastry was mediocre at best. I haven't tried the coffee - I confess to be a coffee snob and, after my experience with the rest of their menu, I was afraid to take a chance on the coffee.

And the service was terrible!! The order taking/food delivery system is so inefficient and disorganized that it's just by chance that anyone winds up with the right order. People are tripping over each other behind the counter while customers are milling around in front of the counter. I'm amazed they've stayed in business as long as they have. In addition, the premises were sloppy and dirty looking. I will not be going back to Tim Hortons.

I would have given no stars but the system won't accept the review without it - it doesn't deserve any stars.

P.S. I'm not a fan of Dunkin' Donuts either but I don't think they have anything to worry about.

5 Reasons Tim Hortons Sucks
For those of you unaware, Tim Hortons is an international1 coffee & donut shop co-founded by Tim Horton, a Canadian Hockey player (who died when he lost control of his 1974 Pantera at 100mph, while under the influence of alcohol and pain killers). By feeding off it’s inherently Canadian origins, combined with massive expansion, clever marketing and sponsorships Tim Hortons has managed to inject itself as key part of Canadiana – up there with Hockey Night In Canada, curling, cheap beer and The CBC.

Tim Hortons has done such an excellent job marketing their “Canadian-ness,” that many Canadians literally feel that it’s their patriotic duty to patronize the restaurant.

I am not one of those Canadians. Tim Hortons sucks!
1. Tim Hortons coffee is terrible!

A lot of Canadians hold Tim Hortons coffee in high esteem, “it’s great, like Canadian beer”. Most Canadians are probably only familiar with the “double-double” (2 shots of cream and 2 sugars). But really, almost any black coloured beverage would taste pretty OK with that much cream and sugar. I prefer my coffee black. I’ve tried to drink Tim Hortons coffee without cream or sugar, it’s completely unbearable. It actually tastes like the unbrewed grounds are just suspended in hot water.

As far as I understand, when a coffee actually tastes better with cream and sugar it indicates a cheaper bean. But, the Tim Hortons double-double has such a distinct taste, I think they’re actually trying to achieve a specific flavour profile that only works with cream and sugar. It does not taste like your standard cheap coffee bean + cream + sugar. It doesn’t exactly taste any better or worse really, just different, almost unnatural. I think this is how they convince the masses that such a poor quality product is actually “good.”

Tim Hortons’ recent foray into espresso based beverages has had even more terrifying results. My advice: just stay away.
2. Their food is hardly “always fresh”

For at least the past 15 – 20 years, Tim Hortons has used the slogan “Always Fresh.” Originally – back in the days when they were competing with mom & pop’s and truck stops – it was a guarantee that their coffee was never allowed to sit for more than 20 minutes. I’ve personally witnessed customers being served coffee older than 20 minutes, but that’s beside the point. The only thing worse than Tim Hortons coffee is Tim Hortons coffee that’s been sitting around for 30 minutes, no amount of cream and sugar can fix that.

Lately, the slogan is also being used to imply that their baked goods and food products are also always fresh. Nothing could be future from the truth. Fact is, as of 2001, Tim Hortons actually par-bakes their product in a central location in Brantford, Ontario2. Where they are then frozen and shipped to Tim Hortons stores across the world. Once they reach the store, the final touches – like fillings, sprinkles, etc – are added and the goods are baked in a highly visible oven, giving customers the impression that they’ve been make from scratch in store.

By Tim Hortons’ definition the frozen pizza I had for supper was also fresh!

The small stand-alone locations in airports, hospitals, etc are even worse. They don’t even usually contain the equipment to do the finish baking, so they have to import the products from other Tim Hortons stores.

As for their actual food – soups, sandwiches, etc – these are no more fresh than anything you would expect at any other fast food restaurant.
3. Tim Hortons is not Canadian owned

As of August 8th, 1995, Tim Hortons has been owned by the US-based Wendy’s3.

That means, buying Tim Hortons is no more Canadian than any other franchised restaurant.

As an interesting aside, the company that does the par-baking for Tim Hortons is a Irish subsidiary of a Swiss multinational4.
4. Inefficient Service

Tim Hortons seems to have a complete and utter lack of knowledge when it comes to food service efficiency. The main problem would seem to be the lack of a standard fast food assembly-line type process, combined with poor/non-standarized store layout.

Never having been an employee of Tim Hortons, I don’t know what their manul dictates. But, these observations appear to be standard partices:

* When you place an order, the same employee (”Cashier”) that enters your order and takes your money, is also responsable for preparing your order and handing it to you.
* If you’re only ordering a coffee and a donut this generally works fine – donuts and coffee makers are generally within arms reach of the cash register. Service is fairly quick.
* If the coffee maker runs out, the Cashier is responsible for refilling the beans – before bringing you your order! This obviously slows down the entire queue.
* If your order includes anything other than a coffee and a donut – like a soft drink, specialty coffee beverage, bagel, “meal,” etc, the system completely breaks down! These items are generally not within arms reach of the front counter. While the bagels and sandwiches do have dedicated crew members, the preparation stations are often in inefficient locations (depending on store layout) causing the receiving process to be somewhat awkward. Either the cashier will bring these items to you, or you are expected to wait in a cafeteria style line, or you simply wait off to the side. It’s near chaos.
* The specialty coffee beverages (iced caps, iced mochas, lattes, etc) are made by the cashier. Depending on the drink, this involves 3 to 5 steps, including stiring by hand! These stations are typically not located near the front counter. It’s not uncommon for a Cashier to take a minute or two to make these drinks.
* During peak times, when a cashier is busy compiling a customer’s order, another employee will take the cashier’s place and begin on the next customer’s order. Depending on the layout of the store and the number of employees, this can sometimes delay the simpler coffee & donut orders by causing bottlenecks around the coffee stations.

I’m not an expert on fast food restaurant efficiency. It just seems to me that Tim Hortons is one of the most inefficient fast food operations. They need to re-organize the way they handle and deliver orders.
5. Cups Are Not Recyclable5

Tim Hortons uses a wax lined cup that is only recyclable in 3 small Canadian Cities: Moncton, NB; Windsor, ON; and Owen Sound, ON6. Also, Tim Hortons cups do not contain any recycled materials.

Tim Hortons may or may not be the only chain in Canada that uses this type of cup. But they are particularly bad for 2 reasons. 1) Their annual RRRRRoll Up The Rim contest. For those of you non-Canadians, this contest involves a prize being printed on the inside of the paper cup’s rolled up rim. While the contest is running, customer “eating-in” who would normally have their coffee poured into a reusable ceramic mug are given an additional contest cup. 2) “Double-cupping” seems to be a fairly common practice at Tim Hortons across the country. This is when the Tim Hortons employee will put an additional paper cup around the first cup to insulate your hand from the hot beverage. Apparently the concept of a paper sleeve has not caught on with the Tim Hortons Brass.

Recycling and environmentalism is a way of life for many Canadians. It’s completely unacceptable for such a “Canadian” company to have such irresonsable practices.

Tim Hortons on Corunna, Ontario is an absolute joke. How they can get away with running a place like that is beyond me. Orders are always screwed up, and that's after an extremely lengthy wait, and wait, and wait some more. I've contacted Tim Hortons head office about the problems at this location and they don't give a rat's ass. It's time to fight back. Let's have some fun and create as much damage at as many Timmy's as possible. Be creative. It's time for war !

I've worked at many places as a teenager(currently 19). I have to say it is the worst place that I've ever worked at. I mean I used to work at a gas station, and got robbed, and that was more pleasant than working at Gay Horton's. I currently work night shifts on weekends, because I go to college. During the entire shift it is only me and one other employee. The owners of the store make me bake, clean most of the store, and serve customers (even sometimes clean the ceiling and sanitize the lights). The owners own the store because the "husband and wife team from hell" have a rich family member who bought them the store. They know nothing of management and their business shows it. They also constantly write me up or have a complaint on me that I'm lazy or didnt do my job right. I fuckin bust my ass off every shift, and believe me the money aint worth it. The customers ........ ooooo ...... the customers............ I have drunk customers, stoned customers, rude customers, fat customers, retarded customers. There are also teenagers who hang around at night and do donuts with their expensive cars in the parking lot. WOW get a job! I'll give them one... help me out. I seriously need an Ak47 under the front counter.

For a mass market chain, Tim Hortons is OK. I've had way better than Timmy's, but then again, I've had worse. They are a decent, middle of the road place. My biggest complaint about Tim Hortons is that more often than not, they manage to screw up your order, no matter how simple it is. Case in point: when I order a coffee from them, I always tell them double cream, NO sugar. And yet, I cannot even begin to count the number of times they ruin my coffee by putting sugar in it. Idiots!

Nothing here is worth it!
Coffee tastes like a big turd,
the frozen drinks have no coffee in them,
and the food is overpriced.
The only thing I can give them credit for is the hash browns,
great flavor.

I currently work for tim hortons and I would also advise NO ONE to work there. The managers treat you like garbage, they think theyre drill sargents.... Ive worked for 3 different tim hortons and theyre all the same. The owners, managers and supervisors couldnt care less about their employees...We work our asses off, and for what? Minimum wage and to be told that were not "doing enough" or "working hard enough". The customers are a totally different story... Im not sure which is worse, the customers or management? MAYBE WE GET YOUR ORDER WRONG BECAUSE YOU SAY YOUR ORDER WRONG....Or you mumble it under your breathe...Or change your mind 100 times...Its NOT always our fault, yet we have to be "polite" and re-make it and apoligize right? Our job is so not worth it, and If I could work anywhere else I WOULD. But unfortuneately I cant at the moment. Im not the only one that feels this way, half the staff I work with are ready to walk out.....

DO NOT WORK FOR TIM HORTONS.

Coffee is equivelent to price.( Cheap ) Soups are bad. From the taste of the soup I believe they are dehydrated just add water recipes. Cheese singles on a breakfast bagel? Yuk! It's amazing that Tim Hortons doesn't get the publicity abuse that Mcdonalds does. No matter how hungry I am those breakfast things on the biscuit buns taste BAD. Chili is OK.

The brand has achieved iconic status in Canada leveraging its roots in two great national passions, hockey and doughnuts.  The food court at the mall close to my office hosts both a Tim's and a Starbucks.  The Starbucks usually has two or three peole in line getting gouged for coffee with faux ero-monikers dished out by pretentious hipster serving staff.  The Tim's, not a word of a lie, is typically lined up out the door with a couple of dozen customers getting their brew and maple-dipped doughnut from pimply kids in cheap golf shirts and gooffy hats for about half the price.  The funny thing, to me any way, is that the coffee from both places tastes EXACTLY the same.

The Tim Hortons in Corunna Ontario has been a nightmare for years. After several emails to Tim Hortons head office, the problems still continue. I have never experienced a worse Tim Hortons in any area of Canada that I've travelled. If you don't believe me, then just stop by Timmy's in Corunna, Ontario and then you'll need no further explanation. Any time, the worst service guaranteed !

In Surrey, at the Sullevan location - the owner is damm cheap. I felt sorry for all those East Indian women who were working with their ass off just like a slaves. What they got in return is just a .50 above minimum wage. DAMM cheap Chin owner did not give a free meals or at least 50% off for the employees. To work - few mimutes arrived early they smile and said nothing but 1 minute late they were bitchy about it. I used to work there and never get any discount at all even a 10 or 20 timbits. I suggest when ever you go to Tim Hortons please take paper cup instead because all the China cup are disgusting which not clean enough...If I were you my choice is Starbucks - REAL COFFEE

Wow.
As I'm reading through these posts, all I can think is "is this a review about my favorite Canadian coffee chain, or a teen angst blog-a-thon?" I'd say 50 - 60% of these 1-star posts belong to hard done by employees. Seriously, after reading your posts I can't help but think what outstanding employees you must have been. That can-do attitude really speaks volumes. I'd hire you in a minute. Riiiiiiight...

This coffee house is a Canadian icon. Not overproduced with extensive gift shops and Italian espresso machines producing $5 lattes, but a hold on to our roots staple which has managed to successfully assimilate itself across an entire country and infiltrate another. Awesome coffee with mild complexity brewed in a BUNN. Love it! Employees may find differences from manager to manager, but who doesn't! Wait until you're not living with mommy & daddy, you're on the hook for your bills, a family to support, oh...and your boss sucks. Have a degree? You'll be able to smile at your boss while sporting a middle-finger mustache much more easily. Don't have a degree? Well, maybe there will be another site about your future employer (Olive Garden perhaps?) that you can 'rant' about while dragging them down into that Waahhh pool with you.

Love some Timmy's! Moved down south, so I have to have it shipped. It's not the same. I look forward to holidays when I come back to see my family. There's always a Large Regular and Hockey Night in Canada waiting for me when I get there. If I get the timing right, I get to roll up the rim!

My problem with Timmy's is that they put so much focus on being speedy at the drive through, and so nothing else matters. I never go through drive through, and so if you walk in, you won't be acknowledged. I once went in when about 6 employees were working. They were all working around the drive through, while I was standing there at the cash for at least ten minutes! If you go through drive through, you'll get speedy service, but you have little chance of actually getting what you ordered, or getting the right change. If you go inside, you'll get what you ordered (maybe) but it'll take forever. Since it seems to take a team of them just to pour one cup of coffee, there are miscommunications everywhere. Don't get me wrong - I go all the time for coffee and doughnuts, but I just need to walk in with a lot of patience!

I have worked at a Tim Hortons in the U.S. for 3 years. I would not recommend anyone to eat there or work there. The only reason I still work there is for the good schedule hours. In the U.S. stores we basically eat whatever we want for free. As for staffing, we turn over almost the entire staff every few months, because no one wants to work there. We our too busy and understaffed to bring good customer service. People should really start getting off their fat asses and make food themselves instead of eating crap. Tim Horton was a drunk brimming full with prescription meds who drove his car off a cliff and got a company named after him. Atleast that gives people hope that something can be named after them. Rant Over.

Briefly working at a store in Vancouver, BC was not enjoyable.
Was working my ass off, had too if you wanted to look busy or else you'll be warned!
If you're in high school & it's your 1st job, maybe.
Evening shift is soo much better than morning/noon shift.
Food is definitly not healthy at all! Soups/chillis are horrendously salty. You can get free donuts & cookies on your paltry breaks but those snacks costs measly.

What I don't get is this....
when a mistake order is made, you can't sell it for food safety, then it gets thrown out. So if it's sitting out a for awhile then why should employees pay 1/2 price for it?
Pathetic. Work at some pizza place at least you won't get hasseled for eating mistakes for free!

I would like to add, there is no dishonour with working at Tim's or any other job. My point is do not try and make it your career choice. It is a good job if you need a few bucks as an extra income to supplemnt your spouse's income or you need some coin to buy DVD's or games as your parents think you should be buying that junk for yourself. All good ideas, but do not ever think that these organizations will offer you any sort of future. Take your pay cheque save and go to school. Take a trade,,,power Engineering is a two year program and you can start right out of school making $22 an hour. I did. Two years later I am over $40. an hour. No shit. I swear it's true. You can work in Nuclear which is growing because Ontario needs more power, or go out west as Alberta is building 2 Nuclear plants. I know people that work in  a Ship's engine room and make even more then I am. Canada needs more Tradespeople. We loose contracts by big companies as we do not have the proper man power to build. This is a big reason why Toronto lost the Olympic games to Being China, not the only reason, but it was a huge concern. Please take the time go to a college and ask what you need to do to get into school. Money is an issue with everyone, ther is progrmas there is assistance. Sure you  can  make all kinds of excuses, but it is better to build houses or buildings or bridges then sandwiches.

Tim Horton's has become one of the worst fast food chains I've ever come across, in line with the pathetic service levels of McDonald's and the like! I can only imagine how filthy and disgusting it has to be in the back, if the public view is any indication. I stopped going there and recommend that anyone with half a brain do the same!Several years ago I found a pebble in my bagel, and stopped eating there. My wife recently found a hair from one of the employees in her sandwich! She was totally disgusted, and brought it to the attention of the manager and employees. their reaction was one of 'we can give you another sandwich, what can we do?' attitude. The manager was rude, and appeared to not care about public health as prioritising sales. Maybe from where he came from this type of incident is common place, but in this degrading country we call Canada, I'm finding more difficult to eat anywhere where an employee understands my order and I don't have to repeat it 10 times!! I'm not saying every TH's is the same, but 9 out of 10 I've been to, are dirty, or they don't have the selection of donuts, or most of the employees just got off the camel and don't understand 2 words of English! This company has become like the rest of the service and retail industry - who cares about service as long as they have the sales. Well I'm waiting for the day when these minor incidents turn to major ones, followed by law suits.

I think I'll just eat at home from now on, and not risk coming into contact with someone else's DNA!!

I have worked at 3 different tim hortons in northern and southern ontario and it's one of the worst jobs i have ever had. If any customer ever wonders why the service is sometimes bad or slow, well first of all, everyday of every hour at tim hortons is understaffed by at least 1 to 2 people or more, ALWAYS. It would be alot faster but some idiot decided it would be good idea to have soups, sandwichs, breakfast sandwichs which by the way are extermly unhealthy. If you people acutally think order food at tim hortons is healthy, well let me let you in on this little secret, McDonalds Big Mac's are HEALTHIER for you then our breakfest sandwich, thats no bull either, next time your at tim hortons, ask for a nutrition guide or look it up online. Tim hortons also treats there employees like dog shit, i don't give a fuck what aanyone else says on here but it's true, they treat us like shit, we only get two 15 mins breaks in an 8 hour shift, same even if you work a 10 hour as baker or nights, like me. oh those two 15 mins are unpayed aswell as well as being timed down to the secound, thats right, they stared timing me when i was still taking an order for a customer, then they gave me shit we i came back 3 secs late, i didn't even get to finish my fucking cigerette, which we have to go inbehind the dumpster so as to not upset the customer with our habits which is acutally non of there FUCKING BUSINESS. i appreticate the tips that some customers give us but to let you know they collect our tips to make up for any of there shortages then we get whats left over. so anytime the tills our out like 4 or 5 dollars, they collect our tips first to pay that off then we get whats left over. JUst remeber that it is fast food you are eating and not even the coffee or soups are healthy for you. we add about two cups of salt extra to make our soups tatse good, you can do the same at home take two cans of cambells soup and add two cups of salt too the entire pot and you have tim hortons soup. even McDonalds treats there employees alot better then us and unlike most places you work for we have to pay for everything, expect for coffee and water, lol...do yourself and favour and make you coffee at home, i could tell you what we do with the coffee but that would be illegal, lol.....always fresh at tim hortons....did you know that freshness has a 12 hour shelf life, thats why those stale dounts are good eating and tim bits never go stale...i'm not kidding, enjoy.

Granted, Tim Hortons may not be the best place for 'everyone' to work. If you have a problem dealing with [sometimes downright stupid] people, then this probably isn't the right job for you. I'm currently employed in a Timmies and have been working my butt off there for seven months and I have to say I disagree with what some of the comments here are stating. My store is understaffed as well, and some nights are really hard, but I find that if everyone really honestly and truly pulls their weight, not one of the customers has to wait for 15 to 20 minutes for a cup of coffee, thus lowering the level of stress to the worker. As to the issue dealing with not enough respect being given in the work place, I think you need to ask yourself, are you actually working? Countless people have worked at my store and complained that they weren't getting the respect that they deserved from neither management nor the customers [or even their own co-workers], but upon studying their actions during their shifts, they did didly squat. Wow, maybe they poured a couple cups of coffee and did a chore or two, but come on, is that really enough to gain recognition, let alone a major amount of respect in your store? On the flip side of this though, I've only worked at one store and have heard horror stories of Tim Hortons transfers and how their managers and supervisors treat them at their old stores, so for workers that really do have that problem and are working their asses off with nothing to show for it, I'm sorry for you guys and hope you can get out of there and possibly transfer to a different store or find another job that hopefully goes better for you. Again, if you work hard, pull your weight and actually do the whole 'Tim Hortons' team thing, you'll get somewhere in the Timmies world and will more than likely have a really great working experience, gain some new friends and have a job that continually challenges you and inspires you to find creative solutions for not only problems at work, but for problems that personal life deals you as well. And who knows, if you work hard enough, management might see how hard a worker you are and other doors may open for you.

i just recently started working at tim hortons a couple of months ago. it is one of the worst jobs ever. u can only get 2 15 minute breaks after working NON STOP for the rest of ur 8 hour shift. and my tim hortons is very understaffed so about 2 or 3 out of every 5 shifts ur working with not enough people making lots of customers wait about 15-20minutes in line just to get a coffee. so every single customer is in a bad mood. the hours are horrible. getting time off some times is like going to hell and back. i cannot say anything good about working at tim hortons and i could go on and on about how bad nearly everything little thing is ther.

DO NOT WORK AT TIM HORTONS!

I worked at Tim Hortons for my first job when I was 15 years old. I worked there for about 8 months and then left to find something better. A few years later, when I moved into my own apartment, I decided that I had to go back to Tim Hortons because I needed the money and the tips are so helpful. Of course, since I moved, I was at a different location with a different owner, so I have a fairly good idea of the similarities and the differences between locations. Employees aren't really respected at all, I find. People on here say that employees are treated like crap.. well it's not that terrible. It's just something you deal with to get your paycheck. It could be a lot better, but whatever. As for the product quality, I know that they don't really throw away donuts and such. They probably do throw away the remnants in the early morning hours at the end of the backshift. But during the days things just get refilled over and over. If the cheese croissants are made in the morning and no one buys any, the same ones will be there at 1 o'clock the next morning.. have sat out in the air the entire time. Another thing that is a problem is the consistency of their iced cappuccinos. Because it all depends on exactly how much cream (or milk) and how much frozen java concentrate is in the cup, each iced cappuccino is different. I'm a big iced capp drinker, and sometimes I get these iced capps made that taste like chemicals, which just means that there wasn't enough cream/too much of the java concentrate. It's nasty like that.
Anyways my rating of Tim Hortons is 3 out of 5 stars because they have a lot of issues to work out and things could be a lot better, but I'm addicted so I still go!

Tim Horton's is getting ridiculous! What happened to actually BAKING your donuts? Now they come in pre-cooked and frozen... mmm... now that sounds appetizing! :P As for their sandwiches, I frequently went to Tim Horton's for lunch back home (for a lack of someplace better to go) and the sandwiches they serve are pathetic. You get some stale, tasteless bun with a sliver of meat and either too much or not enough sauce. The service is crap and I can honestly say I have never gone into a Tim Horton's where it looks like a staff member might actually NOT be hating life at that moment. I have tons of friends that have worked there, and they say the shifts suck, the work is terrible and there's NO rest... About the only good thing I have to about Tim Horton's is that their soups are delicious and their bagels and cream cheese are pretty good. Congratulations on getting something right that my 4 year old kid could make. Geez!

Too funny reading some of these reviews...first of all, stores are owned by individual people so I doubt that ALL Tim Hortons treat their employees like crap...I know...my owners are great. The cameras...are for your protection, definatley during the night shift. Also, owners have a right to protect thier business, if there is theft among staff, I would be watching the cameras too!

DON'T EVER WORK THERE! You might enjoy their donuts and coffee but they treat their employees like crap! They tape videos of you while you work all night and watch them the next mourning. They will do this without your KNOWLEDGE or permission. They CONSTANTLY force you to move...even if you are really tired...no job with a union will ever force you to do that... They have cameras everywhere and are constantly watching you like a Big Brother... They do not appreciate your hard work as an employee...

Need to work on their consistency.  Their drinks, such as the Mocha, are not consistent from restaurant to restaurant.  Sometimes they're great, other times awful.  The garden sandwich (cream cheese, cucumber etc.) on a bun is quite tasty.  Often run out of the more popular donut varieties, which is frustrating.

From a customer's point of view, it's a great place for lots of things like baked goods and coffee

But from an employee's point of view, heed this call. DO NOT WORK THERE PERIOD. it is the worst structured job in all of Canada. McDonalds is a machine, a guy makes the burgers, a guy gets the fries and a guy gets the drink/takes the order. At tim's it is totally different. I make the order, I make the drink, I get the baked goods, I make the sandwich. And then the customer complains about how I should've moved faster, yet I'm doing everything because there is no other way to do it with such high volume and low employee numbers. My brother worked there and he told me DONT WORK THERE but i didn't listen. Now I hope everyone who's out there isn't as ignorant as me.

An open comment to customers: please don't devalue any of our intelligence just because we work at Tim's doesn't mean anything about our character or intelligence. I can guarentee I am smarter than the 95-96 percentile of people who go there. I am an A+ student. I am merely 17 years old. Don't believe because we get your order wrong it's our faults. More often than not it's the crappy system that Tim Horton's Canada has set up that has the faults in it. Don't shout at us and put us down just because of a small coffee with an extra cream. It hurts, no matter if you believe we're stupid. We have just as much feelings as the rest of you.

Going back to the problem of Tim Horton's itself, it is not the employees or the employers faults of the mistakes or the mistreatments of employees and customers alike. It is squarely the fault of the corporation. Just like when Iacocca decided it would be cheaper to pay off lawsuits than fix the ford pinto, "Tim Hortons" refuses to upgrade to a better system. Their "always fresh" policy is a scam at best. They produce crappy donuts out of a factory to be "freshly baked" or as i called it "freshly re-heated" and have customers complain. THEN they dock pay because somebody didn't have a fresh pot of steeped tea at 2:30 in the morning. They expect us to make 24 steep tea pots a shift, yet sometimes not even one cup is ordered because so few people like it. And If i made 24 pots of steeped tea (and slightly more drank decaf) I would have to stay an extra 30 minutes to get other more important jobs (such as cleaning the bathrooms or making products people actually buy)securely finished. To be honest my store manager doesn't give a crap about steeped tea at 2 AM because he knows it's not being bought, might as well save a little cash by not making it. But the corporation is in charge of the quality of the franchises.

So to the consumer I say sorry that I couldn't be better help when i put in cream in your double double tea (which of course is supposed to be cream, but hey what would some consumers know how to properly order)

To the management/CEO/CFO/any ass who decided to make Tim Horton's so damn unefficient, i give you the one finger salute. You worked to deserve it.

Everyone knows Tim Hortons coffee is great [if not the best]the only negative comments you may receive, are from people that find fault with everything that is loved by others. Ignore them, and keep up the good work.
