This is a good Coen Brothers flick in which a wronged hubbie hires a slime ball to snuff out his wife and her lover. That's when all the twists start. This is Frances McDormand's debut on the silver screen.

Haven't seen this one since shortly after its release, but I remember it being well written and unpredictable, a good indicator of what was to come for the Coen Bros. On the topic of blood, I remember 'Blood and Roses' by the Smithereens playing over the closing credits...a nice touch to the soundtrack, with the songs brooding, foreboding intro bass line and melancholy theme.

Early Coen Brothers film, full of twists and nastiness. Great stuff.
