Nearly forgotten by many today, but the guy had a good bat and had a long career from the 1910's to early 30's. A winner, something of a nomad for some reason or other, who played for quite a few pennant winners, namely the powerful A's clubs of the 1910's and as a bench player for the late 20's/ early 30's teams in Philly, the 1918 Red Sox, and some of the early Yankees powerhouses, amongst other clubs. Not as good defensively as his contemporary HOF'er Ray Schalk, but competent defensively, and arguably the best hitting A.L. catcher before the rise of Cochrane. Perhaps not a Hall level guy, but he wouldn't be an embarassment either.
