I'm tempted to put this guy third all-time behind Rivera and Eckersley. Strong contender for the best reliever in NL history, he has posted year after year of reliable work. He's kind of the Hank Aaron of closers. Nobody outside of the players paid much attention to him until his career numbers got up in the stratosphere.

4.5 He currently leads the all-time saves list, and has kind of snuck up on people- meaning he was one of these pitchers who, 5 years ago, you probably wouldn't put in your top 20 all time relievers...but Hoffman has been the best reliever in the N.L. since the mid 90's, and deserves recognition. His brother, Glenn, used to play for the Red Sox, but aside from a decent rookie season, he wasn't much of a player. Funny how different siblings can be in baseball.

I saw this guy take a dump in a coffee can behind the ivy at Wrigley Field. He sold it to a migrant worker for a piece of Topps chewing gum, just before trotting on to the field. That night, he gave up 6 earned runs in 1/3 of an inning. Why, Trevor. . .why?
