One of the greatest of all 19th century pitchers, very dominant for the time, and deserves his Hall plaque. Had his best years with the teams later known as the Cubs and Braves, and also played briefly with the long since extinct Cleveland N.L. team. However, he was emotionally fragile, needed constant reassurement, and wound up in an insane asylum, dying in 1909 while still a relatively young guy. Had a couple of brothers who were marginal major leaguers too.
