Should make it.  Solid offensive numbers,  several gold gloves.  He will make it.

At his position, he had enough offense for long enough to have decent numbers and the gold gloves is just rediculous. Maybe the best catcher of his time.

Yes he'll get in first ballot thanks to the power of modern pharmeceuticals. Look, everyone hates Bonds because he's pompous and he cheated, so why all this adoration for Pudge? Remember him showing up at spring training 2005 35 or so lbs. lighter, saying it was because he gave up junk food? I do. His numbers dipped that year, too. He was a great defensive catcher who more than likely took steroids to get a little better than just average offensive numbers. I don't know, I guess I just don't like this guy.

A slam dunk. he's the best catcher in the game since Johnny Bench. He's a true leader and makes a difference wherever he lands.

He will make the hall of fame because not many catchers will enjoy as many accomplishents as he has, let alone other possion players. He has always been on top of his game and is a team player. Now he has a ring that will make him more honerble for the hall. I consider him one of the best players ever because of his fantastic clutch hitting and his super solid defence.

If he gets in, most likely it will be for his ability to throw out would be base stealers.

If he can't make it on the first ballot, then something is wrong with this system.

Piazza had the offense, but Pudge had the defense. However, Ivan wasn't a slouch when it came to hitting either. He has always put up good numbers with the bat and won a ton of Gold Gloves with his cannon of a right arm. Best overall catcher of his time, and will easily be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

Probable first ballot selection, depending on who else is in the same class. Good numbers for a catcher, and spectacular defense.
