Robb Thompson in Tinley Park, IL always had Mike Murdock over. MM claims to have written thousands of songs, but only sang one song every year until the last time I saw him there. Bragged about all of his possesions. He ALWAYS ended his time the same way, everyone hold up their wallet or purse so God will bless it, quick prayer, microphone to Robb Thompson & collection. Wow, collection time & here is my wallet out. Like the 1-2 punch. Last time I had my wallet out & promptly put it back into my pocket...I give to other trustworthy ministries & to my home church, not to those guys. Many of his stories seem to me to be made up.....Scarey....Find a different ministry to be involved with...God bless you...

Never was there a more true example of a charlatan.  But there will always be theives -- What grinds me worse is the TV channels that allow him airtime.  It calls into serious question the integrity of ANY gospel channel that would deliberately let this man exploit their viewers.  A 5 year old can see he's a crook -- why doesn't INSP?  Food for thought.

If it were not for Benny Hinn (because he takes advantage of sick people)
If it's a wonder who swallows the garbage Murdock, it's mostly elderly people, but for the most part it's people who mentally are weak, which mostly means elderly people, people who are easily manipulated,

Both Hinn and Murdock must be reprobates, how else can anyone refuse
to listen to the Holy Spirit (and I know the Holy Spirit is faithful) continue
to deceive. Murdock and Hinn also have a common arrogance in the way they demand, they don't ask, they don't beg, they demand and threaten that people give all they have.

I know God is faithful and they will of course be judged, and I'd rather be almost anyone on Judgement day

Can anyone think of a way to get the word out on these crooks?

few if anyone who are victims are computer users

an alarming trend I've noticed lately is that many other ministries have invited Murdock on their show because of his ability to raise money.

I'm praying about it, but for now it is an indication to me that those who invited him onto their show either lack discernment or assume people don't know any better.

Wouldn't one assume someone like John Hagee would know that Murdock
is a crook? I want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it's difficult to
believe

but it's much more than one ministry who has had him as a "guest"

I'm non-denominational, but sometimes I wish there was some sort of board, some way to put a stop to such crooks.

The ECFA helps some, but only for those wise enough to know to check

pray that Senator Grassley will be sucessful

Saw "Money" Murdock on INSP's Camp Meeting the other night when I could not sleep.  He was giving his "testimony" that he states he rarely gives, only when God tells him that it is permissible.  He was talking about the beauty of a $100 bill.  Said he had been to this and that place (exotic places, I don't remember all of them he talked about) and had seen beautiful women and other beautiful things.  Yet nothing was as beautiful as a $100 bill!  Yes, he said this over and over.  Even placed his hand up as if he was holding one.  Kept saying, $100 bill, $100 bill, how beautiful.  This charlatan has no soul, to stand up before a lost and dying world and brag about his possessions and wealth.  He tells his followers to brag as he does if they come into the same wealth as he does.  Stated God told him that He wanted 300 millionaires for the sake of the Gospel!  Sake of the gospel?!?!  How in the world does making millionaires benefit the gospel?  Of course Murdock never told how this would benefit the gospel.  And he never does promote the gospel message.  All he talks about is money, money, money.  Plus he prays to the Holy Spirit.  Are we to do this?  Jesus told us to pray to the Father in Jesus's name.  Where in scripture are we told to pray to the Holy Spirit?  Then he blasphemes the Holy Spirit by saying to the audience that the Holy Spirit told him to say those things.  The Holy Spirit will only point us to Jesus Christ, never to making money or giving money to hucksters like Murdock to reap a harvest as he says.  Would like to see his puny little soul when God's booming voice is thundering down to him, asking him to answer for his "ministry"  He claims to hear the voice of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, but rest assured when he hears the real voice thundering down at him, he will be quaking in his wisdom keys.  We should actually pray for this man, but I fear that he may have already committed the unpardonable sin, by attributing his money begging antics to obeying the voice of the Holy Spirit.  Even so, come Lord Jesus.

http://www.trinityfi.org/press/murdock01.htm Someone once wisely said, "IF YOU WANT TO BE MISERABLE, PUT YOUR TRUST IN YOUR RICHES...THINK ONLY OF YOURSELF...WHAT YOU WANT...WHAT YOU LIKE...WHAT YOU WANT NEXT...WHAT RESPECT PEOPLE OUGHT TO PAY YOU.....HOW YOU CAN HAVE MORE OR BETTER THAN THE NEXT PERSON....." One of Life's great misconceptions - Happiness and success in this life depends upon Possessions accumulated. The more possessions a man or woman has, the better life will be. This is what our culture teaches us today! Jesus says it is a lie. Our life is not defined by what material possessions we have accumulated. The rich man died before he could use all that he had stored in his barns. and...I've never seen a hearse pulling a U-HAUL behind it...   The first key to wisdom is NOT to give this jerk money.

If you don't like the language you will have to act like a grown up for a minute... What a peace of shit this man is. Just your typical crap used car salesman look with the bad hair coloring and fake tan. Look at these people that have no concern for anyone except them selfs. I have news for you that Gods concern is not for money and money alone. Who in the hell sits in this studio and watches this crap and does not just bust out laughing at the complete foolishness. If you ever wondered what hell is going to be full of just tune in the INSP and watch these whores steal from there fellow man. Next the same assholes will be selling a book on how you can learn how to "Flip a House or Christ" Wow.....its all about money. These guys have to work at a car dealership during the day...

The more I watch these folks the more I decide if it was true I couldn't afford to be a Christian. To hear them tell it God is a 401k that returns more based on what you invest. This week Daystar is showing old reruns of his beg a thon and of course the $58 seed will do everything including make limbs grow back. I hope people new to these networks will realize this is not what Christ is about.

Murdock likes to describe himself as a "Wal-Mart guy." But a $25,000 Rolex adorns his wrist. And he can shoot hoops on the "NBA-style" basketball court at his estate or take notes with a $4,500 fountain pen. Details of Murdock's lifestyle were pieced together from documents obtained by the Trinity Foundation, a televangelist watchdog group in Dallas; Denton County property-appraisal records; a report of a burglary at his home; interviews; and excerpts from his broadcasts and books. They show a man living a Hollywood lifestyle. Murdock says he drives a BMW 745, which typically sells for $69,000 to $75,000. He used to prefer driving a Porsche to the ministry. He has had at his disposal a ministry Corvette, Jaguar and Mercedes, Lincoln Continentals and, since August, a corporate jet valued at $300,000 to $500,000. Murdock lives in a Spanish-style, 3,177-square-foot adobe house that he calls Hacienda de Paz or "House of Peace." He, not the ministry, owns it. Also on the grounds is a 1,660-square-foot building whose use is unclear. The 6.8-acre estate, east of Argyle, was valued at $482,027 by the Denton Central Appraisal District in 2002, documents show.

This guy is a pernicious con artist.  Another "doctor" who has a degree from an internet phony diploma mill.  His 115 so called books are nothing more than cheap pamphlets filled with proverbs so simplistic a child could write them.  Somebody mentioned his BMW 745i.  I know the pastor who gave it to him, Robb Thompson.  Hence my username.  He's another confidence man extroardinaire that Murdock buddies with.  What a piece of sh!t this man is.  Those Fort Worth Star Telegram articles are really revealing, and they have a truckload of info in them.

This week, the INSP network is having its TBN equivalent of the beg-a-thon, they call it "Campmeeting," and here is its premeire spokesman and money-maker. Saw him boasting about how big his house is and how he loves to make his "enemies(Those who oppose his false teachings)" jealous of it. He loves for people to "sow seeds" of $1,000, even more. "Release what's in your hand, and God will relese what's in his hand." Shameful, and yet, he and all other false teachers only get rich because gullible Christians are too blind to tell that their being fleeced.

I think Illusionbuster said it best about the charismatic movement and the appeal of people like Murdock and his ilk. Charismania is so emotional, and it's so easy to appeal to those emotions. A preacher can stand in a pulpit and say "Yabba Dabba Doo" and as long as he has an organ accompanying him, and he mixes in a few "Ha's", people will go into a frenzy. It sounds so good to hear that God wants you to prosper and never get sick, it sounds so good to hear that if you just give a little more, if you just believe a little more, then you'll get that much-awaited financial blessing or physical healing. I can only sit and listen to Murdock for a few seconds. He is a straight up heretic, who's main goal is to separate people from their money. I once heard him say "Until you relase what's in your hand(Money), God will not release what's in HIS hand(FInancial blessings). Obviously, Murdock and every other prosperity pimp who tries to make people give them their money in exchange for God's blessings, ignore Acts 8:20 where Peter says to Simon, "Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. You have neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God."

This guy is slick and shameless in exploiting the unwary ,he probably fools a lot of charismatic types since he knows how to appeal to them. Murdock is one greedy person feeding off of other peoples personal greed, ambitions, hopes or serious deep needs such as a severe illness or loss love one etc., most people who follow him probably haven't the slightest idea what's going on. The charismatic movement has so many of these money greedy phony types on TV I am sure they have done tremendous harm to the cause of Christ. It wil be just about impossible to undo the horrible damage TBN and Day Star has done in the world. I really don't blame people for not wanting to be a Christian after seeing so much of this garbage on TV.

When I first saw this man I cringed, but I watched for the entertainment and was appalled at slick words he used to lure the gullible to tithe. Mortgage your home if you have too, but tithe, tithe, tithe and see what will happen in just '2 weeks!' And all the books! Do you know that God tells us that too much reading is wearying for the soul. Stick to God's word, all else is just opinions and interpretations by clever wordsmiths.

Mike Murdock is an awesome man of God. When he talks about sowing a seed, he also talks about seed-time and harvest. Time meaning you may have to wait on God if you haven't sown any seed in the past. He also talks about sowing consistently. You can't sow one time and expect to be rich. He's done his share of sowing and that's why he's reaping a bountiful harvest of cars, rolex watches, etc. Just like he says, "stop the jealousy." God bless you Mike Murdock.

I had the extreme misfortune to be invited to church by a friend whose guest speaker that Sunday was none other than Mike "Money" Murdock. Due to his incessant rambling the service lasted THREE hours. What were the many deep spiritual topics this man covered during such an extended service one might ask? His UNCOMMON wealth and all the UNCOMMONLY ridiculous things he wasted it on. Expensive sports cars, exotic animals, homes etc, etc. All of this while listening to this grecian for men dyed phony try to share seven keys of wisdom to the unbiblical but outrageously popular prosperity doctrine. On top of all that he collected THREE offerings during the service, and spent an immeasurable amount of the three hours shamelessly pimping his books and tapes that would be for sale as soon as service let out. The sermon was pretty much what you see on TV. If you give him money, God will bless you like he has blessed him. All of this begging for money, in a congregation that was in a depressed area and could have used their hard earned money they placed in those three offerings for their own life necessities, not the need of a two-bit televangelist to have the latest Benz. Sick, Sick, Sick. He obviously has no conscious, or quite actively choses to supress it in the pursuit of the almighty dollar.

Mike Murdock is nothing more than a Robet Tilton wannabee who wants your money. Most of the time Mike Murdock is talking about giving to God to get your financial blessing. This of course is false, it is in fact 2 Peter 2:1-3 fulfilled before our eyes! Murdock is also friends with Marilyn Hickey and Oral Roberts and Benny Hinn and Frederick Price which shows how how legitimate a preacher he is if he considers them to be doing God's work. --------------------------------------- The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported on March 2 2003 that for nearly a decade, less than 1 percent of donors' money to the Mike Murdock Evangelistic Association has been used for such charitable works. Murdock uses most of the money he gets for his ministry that helps him maintain a lifestyle that includes Rolex watches, expensive sports cars and exotic animals, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported in 2003 after a six-month investigation of Murdock and his so called ministry.
