Depends on the plates. If they have Elvis you are at risk. If you got the Dale Jr. set, cue the banjo.

My grandmother used to do this with collectible plates from the movie "The King and I." Nothing low class about that.

Are you calling my mom low brow? Those Rockwell plates she has up in her kitchen cost a pretty penny.

This says "No Taste," but it doesn't say poor. Lower class people don't often don't use plates for eating, much less decorating.

Numbah hit the nail on the head. I must add the plates for Princess Di in the 5 star category. Go to a junk or antique store and check out the wares. Plates galore are on sale. You get 4 stars if you own the Norman Rockwell series. 3 stars is your fate if you have delftware or danish blue plates. 2 stars swim into your constellation for centennial or other commemorative plates. I can't think of any plate series that deserves a one star.
