 | Djahuti (54) 11/10/2005 | Even though I love the Doors and am sick of this song-( Morrison also was after performing it in every show)-I have to give it a 5 as a great song of the 60s.Back then,it was taboo to record something over 3 minutes or so long. The extended solos were groundbreakers in rock n roll,as well as a showcase of just how good each musician in the band was and how great their chemistry could be.This was not just huge in the USA,but took Europe,Asia and even Israel by storm-winning American Bands a big place in the hearts of fans worldwide...By the way:Robbie Krieger wrote the song as well as all but one of the lines:It was Morrison who added the Brooding "Try now we can only lose and our love become a funeral pyre" lyric.
