A good many of these posters have musical taste up their butts.  This album was so advanced beyond the music of its time that it was shocking to the musically discerning when it came out.  Very fine musicianship is demonstrated throughout and the singing is top notch.  "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Wooden Ships," "Long Time Gone" and "You don't Have To Cry" are truly great compositions.  Even the more subdued songs like "Helplessly Hoping," and "Guinnevere" are slight years better than most of the contemporary crap that tries to pass itself off as coffeehouse these days.

A good album, but overrated, and far weaker than "Deja Vu" the followup album with Neil Young. Other than "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes" and "Long Time Coming," most of the songs don't really have great staying power, i.e. they are fairly easy to get sick of.

Their first album, released on the eve of Woodstock was probably never surpassed in terms of overall consistency and quality.
