Triumph of the Spirit is a true story of boxer Salamo Arouch,middleweight champ of Greece,who ends up boxing for survival in Auschwitz after being deported there with his family during The Holocaust.Willem Dafoe is terrific as the fighter, and the cast also includes Robert Loggia as Arouch's father and Edward James Olmos as a guard.Adding to it's authenticity, Triumph was the first feature film to be filmed in Aushwitz.
