TO's an idiot. He thoroughly ripped apart every aspect of the Niner's organization, from management on down. And the Eagles knew all that going in...Reid knew it, McNabb knew it, so did everybody else. They knew that in some point in time, if TO wasn't getting the ball, or wasn't recognized as the greatest thing since sliced bread, he'd be crying. So what does he do? Just that, he cries and rips apart the Eagles, and McNabb and Reid are shocked and embarrassed. You know who suffers here? The fans. The Eagles organization puts all this money on the line for TO when they could have gotten solid players who don't cause problems, and what do they do - they bench TO. The Eagles should have just played TO for the rest of the year, then let him go. They still have to pay his contract, and now you're probably out of the playoffs because you benched your best player - why make the fans suffer because of your stupid decision Reid?

Unfortunately for anybody who cares about sports more than drama, anything involving Tyrell Owens has been a huge story this year. The main reason why I cared about this story was that the Eagles were playing my Redskins the following week.

Its not a big story at all, T.O. angled for this and he got what he wanted. Has everyone forgot that the begining of the season T.O. wanted to be traded. Why the Eagles did not trade him is beyond me, the only reason I can think of is they could not get any thing for him. Who wants an XL receiver with a XXXXL mouth.

Don't bring TO to your team, owmers. He will kill your team. Somebody won't heed these words and he will no doubt screw up another franchise next year. I hope its the Cardinals.

There's a lot of blame to go around here. Blame T.O. -- Philly treats their sports stars like gods. Dick Vermeil, Bobby Clarke, Mike Schmidt and Allen Iverson, et. al. will always be loved and cherished by the denizens of Philly. T.O. was in that mansion of Philly's exulted -- and he torches it by hiring the nefarious Drew Rodenhaus (the most hated agent in Philly since Scott Boras). Rosenhaus pulled the strings, T.O. did the dirty deeds and everything imploded. The "apology" by Owens followed by Reosenhaus's litany of "Next Question." was theater of the absurd. Blame the Eagles -- They think they know everything. They get rid of Ike Reese, Corey Simon, and Derrick Burgess -- mainstays on the Eagle's playoff run. And we're surprised the defense can't stop anyone. They didn't address their running back needs, not getting a 20-carry back (which Westbrook isn't) and Sean Andrews has been a bust as a lineman. Then Pinkston and Buckhalter get hurt. They are hard to replace. The Eagles essentialy could not afford to lose anyone -- let alone the best WR in the game. Mosat of All -- Blame ESPN: They did this. They aired this garbage round the clock with shills like Dan Patrick and Mike GreenWeenieberg (who must wear female lingerie under his suit). Then there's Michael Irvin, who ESPN touts as someone who tells it like it is, but is really an inarticulate moron. He's the cat who poisoned Owens with thoughts that Favre is better than McNabb. T.O. would complain he wasn't getting the ball enough if Joe Montana, Peyton Manning and John Unitas threw 40 footballs simultaneously to him. ESPN did the same malarchy with John Chaney (to get him fired) and the baseball steroid stuff (which they help foster). And What do you have -- The Eagles are doomed. They may not win another game this year. Andy Reid and Donavan McNabb's psyche are destroyed. And once again -- Philly fans will go another year without a winner. And ESPN continues to focus on the Eagles. They won't leave till the team is thoroughly torched. Then they can go destroy something else, like hockey.

Pretty big story in that its rare for a contending team to harshly discipline such a talented player. I think they made the right move. Whatever his considerable skills, Owens is a cancer on the Eagles. I think they have a better chance of winning without him than they do with him.

Huge. I'm going to miss watching T.O. take over games. I'm not going to miss the lame "they can't stand each other off the field, but can they get the job done on it?" commentary. I think Tim Dahlberg said it best when he said that "Owens can't catch enough balls to make up for the way he has pitted teammate against teammate".

It's a pretty big story. Superbowl contender shuts down one of the NFL's most talented players, simply for being an ass. Just to put things in perspective, TO didn't get arrested, busts his ass in practice, doesn't party, and plays hard and well. My take on it as an Eagles fan? It's about time. Owens has ripped apart one of the proudest and most well run franchises in professional sports. He is a cancer on the clubhouse, and is mentally imbalanced. Bill Simmons compares him to the psycho girl friend of your buddy, who everybody knows is psycho - except your buddy. And I wouldn't count out the Eagles just yet. Proud teams tend to step up against adversity, and I wouldn't put it past this group.
