Anthony Bordain, what can i say.. hes coolest guy u'll ever see on TV. He smokes he drinks, and he swears while traveling around the world tasting various foods and trying to fit in with other country's cultures. On paper doesnt sound like a nice guy, but hes pretty respectiful towards other people (guess you gotta be for a show like that) On the travel channel, my favorite shows are a clash between Bizarre foods and No Reservations. I like both shows for different reasons, but both i dont mind watching over again. If you want to travel bad and your stuck at home, No Reservations will quench your thirst if only for a short period of time.

It took me awhile to warm up to this show (I only learned about it when my brother let me know they were doing an episode on the culinary delights available in NJ), but now that I have, I try never to miss an episode. Sort of a mixture of international-travelogue/exotic-cuisine-expose, it benefits from Bourdain's sardonic humor, his acerbic wit, and his willingness to try almost anything, no matter how distasteful and/or potentially dangerous (his drinking of saliva-fermented liquor in a rural Peruvian village cemented his stones-of-iron status in my mind). You also get the feeling that Bourdain has an essentially good heart, and likes people, no matter how misanthropic he attempts to appear before the camera. When you combine all that with an indomitable and adventurous spirit, and the temperament of an irascible epicurean, this is one of the most satisfying and informative "cooking" shows on TV, or anywhere else, for that matter. Bravo, Tony!
