Often lost on people is how good of a football player Pat Tillman was going to be. He already had an 145 Tackle season and he only played 4 years. He was becoming a force to be reckoned with that could have helped anchor a developing defense. Another lost fact is that he was also an outspoken player like Owens... only he was outspoken in an entirely different way. He was humble. He was thankful. He loved his team and his teammates. He was an example of what an unselfish player is. T.O. never has been and never will be an unselfish person. It is sickening to even compare the two in any way. Tillman deserves way better than that.

Since T.O. likes to treat his whole team like enemies, he'd be a poor fit for the military. There's no biting the hand the feeds you in the military. Insubordinate personalities are made to suffer. Drill sergeants are trained to break down the very personality traits that made Owens cause conflicts against his team. Boot camp might help him lose the egomania, though he'd be dismissed as a liability there a lot quicker than in pro football.

The physical stuff would be fairly easy, but can he shoot? Hmm. I think his downfall would be following orders.

Then he could give a speech about the U.S. Army being an organization that lacks the class to publicly recognize his having completed basic training.

Gee, I dunno. Something tells me that T.O. just might not have the mindset the military looks for.

Friendly fire in the form of Eagles Bad-Assador Hugh Douglass just about put TO down in the locker room. Not sure it would be wise for TO to take his show to Iraq. Couldn't you hear TO saying something like "if the Israeli special forces were fighting this war it would be over by now..." or something. Backstabbing egomaniacs are impossible to work with in any setting, and I have to think the military would be no different.

TO would never do this. Being in the military requires putting other people before yourself. TO has proven that he can't forget about his own wants for the better good of a team. There would be some friendly fire aimed at TO's head real quick if he were to join the military.

He would be killed by friendly fire!
