I'd say Clowns = Scary more than Clowns = Evil. Generally they serve just to creep people out because of a few occasions when they have actually been evil. I blame Stephen King...

I am not afraid of Clowns I do find them creepy. Tim Curry was great as the evil clown in IT. as horror movies go stay away from clowns. Especially if they come themselves Pennywise.

Historically they really do have a connection with evil and this was long before the first horror film or book ever came about. I personnally can't stand them. Check out www.ihateclowns.com if you feel the same way and want to get a laugh.
