Very articulate and bright, and has mellowed in recent years, but he will always be weighed down by his role in the Tawana Brawley affair.

Just after he is elected a squadran of pigs will fly over head with monkeys flying out of their butts and the thundering sound of hell freezing over will be heard though out the world.

Al is hilarious, but even he is not serious about his chances to win any election.
irishgit 11/16/2005
Strictly on a pragmatic, realpolitik, analysis, this guy couldn't win a primary if he was the only candidate on the ballot.
scarletfeather 11/16/2005
Why not? He couldn't be any worse than what we have already.

And in this corner, wearing the pie in his face...Al, the, "not all that" Sharpton!
GenghisTheHun 11/16/2005
I always send Al a small contribution to get on his mailing list. That usually returns my pittance in good solid comic relief.

I don't even find this idea funny.

Al would get my vote if it was a 3 way run-off between him, Louis Farrakhan and Lyndon LaRouche. And you could possibly add Hillary Clinton into that mix and the Reverend would probably still be my guy.
Jed1000 11/16/2005
Even if the Reverend Al suddenly made all kinds of sense and miraculously transformed into an intelligent, credible candidate his old "crazy Al" baggage would weigh him down and sink him. He occasionally has some interesting ideas and observations and he's kind of fun to listen to. As long as he doesn't have any real political power, that is.

Much too polarizing.
