What a man of integrity!  I wasn't for Obama, but now that he's won, I am so glad that Colin Powell is backing him.  This gives Obama a definite edge in domestic affairs.  Colin Powell would have made a wonderful President!  Hopefully he'll be a big part of the Obama administration.

Are you sure that (R) should be there?

I very greatly respect Colin Powell. He would be far better than either presidential candidates at the moment. He is actually a real moderate, and he just had to do his job on that testimony on Iraq.

Personally, I like him. And I'm pretty left-leaning if measured by the American stick. In what I've read and heard about him, the prevailing trait was his omni-present desire to take care of his people. I've learned that this is the first rule of leadership, the ONLY rule of leadership, and a man embracing this would perform admirably as President.

I don't expect him to return back to public life, but of all the potential candidates on this list, he is probably still the most well positioned to do it. His turmultous tenure at State might be an issue, and it is questionable whether he can get support from the Republican party due to his more moderate views, but I still think he has enough stock value to be a strong general election candidate. Had he run 10 years earlier, it would have been just about a sure bet.

I still believe he could have beaten Clinton in '96 if he cared enough to run, but I think his age will be a factor in '08. An attractive and viable candidate, but I don't think he cares to be president.

Whatever currency he may once have had is now all but spent.

Should have run against Bush for the 2000 rebublican nomination. He would already be the first black president. But, since he admited he found the secretary of state job too demanding he'll never stand a chance now.

He already left town because he had integrity and clearly stood out against this corrupt and intellectually defunct administration. . .

Does not want it or need it, he to smart for the job and I don't think he would put up with all the B.S. and second guessing that comes with it.

Too old, he will be 71 when the 2008 election takes place.
