What? Has anyone seen the Mets track record with Asian ballplayer? Dae Sung Koo? Kaz Matsui? And there was that other guy I can't remember who was billed at the "Japanese Greg Maddux" but ended up being the Highly Paid Japanese Batthing practice pitcher? If there is any place I wish that skin color would be sidelined and stay sidelined it's sports. I love going to NBA games and couldn't care less if I see one white or Asian ball player- I want to see the best players. I couldn't care less how many Latino's now are on the Mets roster compared to last year nor how many blacks are on the Jets. I want to see my teams WIN! More Asian players? Yeah sure... if they're Hideki Matsui and not KAZ Matsui.

I totally agree with Louie here!!

Ditto on Louie's comment. If they're good enough to make the cut, then by all means. But to add players based on race/color to meet a quote is ridiculous.

Let's get over this political correct nonsense. Not enough blacks! Need more Asians, come on! In a perfect world the NBA would be 50/50, the NFL would have 15 black coaches or at least have 15 interviewed! Like the old saying, "May the best man win!" That goes for coaches and athletes, if you are the best qualified, you get the job period!

I don't think more asian players will hurt baseball, but I don't see how it would necessarily help either. Baseball needs good players who are entertaining and exciting, regardless of their background.

By all means. Any and all that are good enough to play at the major league level should be playing there.
