A sleazy exploitive industry that is filling a widely regarded need. Not everyone in the industry is a victim, nor are all its customer's perverts, but on balance I'd say the negative outweighs the positive here.

Two. The porn industry is rife with drugs, abuse, and innocent kids being sucked into a lifestyle they no nothing about, much to their later regret in many cases. The procurers of this style of porn are no better than drug dealers and pimps. Unfortunately, this will likely continue for a good many years.

On the other side, there are those that are willing to sell their bodies for money, mature enough to make their own decisions and are knowledgeable about the industry, enough so that they chose this lifestyle freely. Whether you think they debase themselves in irrelevant. It's their body, their choice. As long as they can handle the load (no pun intended), their decision is the only one that counts.

I'd say something funny about the situation, but the thought of teens being used as trash to satisfy some old geezers need for sexual gratification disgusts me.

Full disclosure. I hit the sites, but usuallly restrict my viewing to those areas where I figure the the participants are fully congnicent of what they're doing, are not forced into it and seem to enjoy it. Not all women have the same sexual hangups as others.

A hundred years or more ago, showing a bit of leg above the ankle was considered porn. Though what we have going on in the world now doesn't even take a hint of imagination - I think it largely depends on what's going on in someone's head that defines the difference between things like nude or naked - art or pornography. And I believe that most people intuitively know the difference between the two. I also think that human beings have always and will always seek ways to debase themselves via cheap thrills. Hopefully, most will grow up and decide to take the high road. Like most vices, yes, it hurts; lowers self-esteem, dims focus, empties pockets, ruins families, careers, and on and on. But only if someone allows it to happen.

I think everyone views porn different...... they become rich on making women appear like sex objects....... and then guys expect women to act like that in the bedroom..... that is not realistic.......

Here's the thing, this is one of those things that I think is fine for adults to watch/read, it's called freedom. But personally I find it disgusting and think that the world would be a better place without it. But since we have freedom of expression in this country, I don't think it should be banned, people would get it anyway... but that only goes for adults, there is no reason a child should ever be exposed to it.

So my rating of "hurts badly", really means that I think it is bad for society, it's just another thing to put unrealistic expectations on how people should look and act, and it's just pointless, it makes something natural into something really dirty. Not only that, but the industry that makes it is really bad for those who subject themselves to it.

I'm sure the industry is full of unsavoury, sleazy, amoral, abusers and manipulators who have committed unspeakable acts against poor helpless victims. Some people also enter the industry willingly and make a decent living at it from reports.  Seems to me that it's no different than the Banking Industry, really.   

I doubt that the product of all of this has changed society as a whole for good or worse.  They are simply catering to a market that is looking for fantasy indulgence.  The existing labour laws would probably provide adequate protection for those involved in the industry if it was run above board.

While I believe in freedom of expression...there are obviuosly some pitfalls here...It is far to easily accessed, for kids and young adults.

Social exploration, freedom of expression, and legitimate business is well and great. But it must be managed in a more respectful manner of the fairer sex... objectification and degradation is simply unacceptable.

The greatest example of moral decadence in our society and in the world. Ordinary people become deeply disturbed and  the guilt causes irreparable life long consequences. The problem, just as with drugs, is not the producers but the consumers. And just as drugs, pornography is destroying our nation, especially the young generation. A scourge to humanity.
