I have nothing against PR but we must end the subsidy. The reason for the subsidy was because of lack of sources of radio. This was probably true in television, but I don't think it was ever true in radio.

I object to government radio in the USA. It should be totally in private hands and paid from advertising or private sources.

Somewhat dull at some moments, but hands-down the best and most literate reporting. . .I'm sure those big words infuriate those who despise it when those damn college graduates 'talk down to them'. . .

Probably the least biased of any news source you can get from both radio and TV. Here is an interesting survey about people's attitudes toward bias in the media. http://people-press.org/reports/display.php3?PageID=825 Spending cuts have been proposed here, but they were restored when congressmen realized a lot of people don't agree with them. The total budget of the PBS is about $400,000,000 per year compared to annual spending of about $2,300,000,000,000. So cutting the entire thing is going to do nothing to begin to lower the deficit and was more a political stunt than a genuine attempt at fiscal responsibility.

One of the most pure left-wing slanted news sources in America today. Rife with as much advertising as any commercial network. Taxpayer dollars should be cut off from this mouthpiece of the liberal wing of the democrat party as soon as possible. Why should my tax dollars, exacted from me under threat of prosecution and jail-time, be funneled to such a left-wing organization? Objective? This is an objective news source, and Rupert Murdoch dominates all the others? Whew.

In these days of Corporate Conglomerates,The "People" are sorely in need of information NOT paid for by advertising or lobbies.People deserve to hear EVERY side of any story-and often this is the ONLY place they hear anything besides the generic blah blah blah pumped out by Rupert Murdoch and his ilk.
