It would be wise for Baseball to invest in Youth and up leagues in areas with high concentrations of African-American kids. Get them interested in Baseball and hope it sticks. The rewards are great and there is interest there that just needs to be tapped. If you can have the greatest NBA player ever retire briefly to attempt to play Baseball, that tells you right away that there figure to be many other would-be stars in the making out there. The great thing is that they can play both Football and Baseball most of their careers leadign up to the pros where there have been a few Football to Baseball players ( Bo Jackson, Deoin Sanders, Brian Jordan).

uhhh.. I think they're doing just fine. They're also phenomenal football players and basketball players. Maybe if you're looking for better racial balance you should stop the Latin American ballplayers from playing baseball all year round 24/7...LOL

Sports are great because its is one place where race doesn't really matter - at least on the field, ESPN is race-oppcessed. (Ever notice that white basketball players are always compared to other white basketball players and black quarterbacks are always compared to other black quarterbacks by these bigoted bastards). Sports are a completely merit-based system. The best players, regardless of race, get glory. If African-American kids dont' want to play baseball, so be it. The inner cities around where I live have little leagues amd little league fields, but all of the kids are on the basketball courts. In the suburbs, the kids don't really play baseball either, their all playing soccer.

Blacks in America have a strong history with baseball, and unfortunately there are not many young black children playing baseball today. The percent of blacks in the major leagues has been decreasing for a while now, and it would be helpful for baseball in this country if more young black people participated in and followed baseball.
