I think it could have been so much better if not for the popularity of Ray just a year before. It was very well acted and a very good story, regardless of how similar it is to movies in the past. The introduction of so many famous performers of the past was done in a high-quality fashion; they werent really introduced at all, it was more subtle (and it was done well). The movie was entertaining, and it is a movie that well not be soon forgotten.

Martha and I saw it together. She didn't like it. Too much drugs. I loved it. I have seen Cash in person and watched him many times on tv. Phoenix really captures him and his music.

well done movie on Johnny Cash and his life up until he and June Carter Cash decided to get married. interesting about his childhood how he got started. well acted by Jochiun{sp} Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon. showed some of the problems Johnny had with drug use. how he persued a relationship with June Carter.
