My five is for the comfort, as a fashion statement they are almost anti-fashion, aren't they? If you will forgive the commercials 1. tshirthell.com has some of the most outrageous statement t-shirts ever. 2. Duluthtrading.com has the absolute best quality t-shirts I have ever encountered. Extra long so they stay tucked in behind, heavy fabric, no itchy tag or label, and sized for the American man. I am usually an XL and theirs is really too big on me. Read - comfort and a non-fashion statement if ever there was one. (I have no affiliation with the two businesses I have just shamelessly shilled for.)

I think that this garment is used and abused as much as any in history. I recommend that only those with the proper physical build wear them. Too skinny is just as bad as too fat. You all know what I mean. Some tee shirts have possibilities and some don't!

Put a sarcastic statement on it and you have half of the shirts I own.

Mixed. I wear them a lot, but like Randy I buy larger sizes to disguise the paunch a little. One of the most unappealing sights is a t-shirt stretched drum-head tight over an immense beer-gut. Especially if its riding up a little.

Genghis, since I am now starting to enter the fat stage, or at least pudgy, I know exactly what you mean. Still, I find tee shirts comforting and I still enjoy wearing them. I just buy a bigger size and hope no one noticed that I've gained and extra thirty pounds or so, I'm sure no one has caught on yet.. Of course just like anything else, there is a proper time and place.

Best with snide messages on them.

I have way too many of them, but they are great for wearing during summer.

Never out of style...except maybe at weddings or funerals.
