Give me a suit and a bow tie. That's my preferred uniform. There is something about a suit that brings instant respect, and the bow tie injects a tiny bit of individuality. However, I won't knock BC too badly, just because I have never been able to carry off the really squeaky-clean business casual that some seem to manage gracefully. Maybe I just need to invest more in those type clothes, because they are surely more comfortable than a suit. No sour grapes here. BC is OK as long as suits are not shunned.

I do not approve. When you are that close, why not wear a tie?

Wearing it would make me feel like a corperate robot, or a clone.

I could never take people dressed like that very seriously. No matter what environment. Either you mean business, your it's your day off. While you decide, I'm leaving.

I'll join this chorus. I like wearing a suit, and I like wearing jeans, and I like wearing tailored slacks. However, I despise the formalized informality of "business casual"

Business Casual is the devil's work. Business Casual saps your soul and homogenizes your being. If ever placed in a BC environment again, I will join my brother in arms Earthbound and scream my defiance by wearing suits and tuxedos, as uncomfortable as that may be. You have to pick your battles, and this is one of mine :)

I always hated this combination. Even the term makes my hair stand on end and my teeth grind. Tell me to wear a suit and be done with it and I will swish about in that, dashingly, or let me wear jeans and a tree-hugger t-shirt from my vast personal collection, but I refuse to muck about with this corporate-approved, squeaky clean 'smart, yet casual' look, with my chinos creased just so and the company polo shirt with just one button open at the neck. These are not clothes that I buy or wear in my free time, and it is no concession to my sartorial freedom to allow me to dress like that. Just my opinion. Now back to work..
