probably should not do but when I worked in an office might have let a few swears fly. not a habit i am proud of . but let's just say I am not alone. most popular swear "bitch"

I've worked in male dominated environments and female dominated work environments and can attest that the female environment involved much more colourful language.

In my days of working in advertising and politics, this was virtually a requirement.

The language in most campaign offices and advertising meeting rooms would embarrass a longshoreman or a marine gunnery sergeant.

It certainly wouldn't accomplish anything.

Sometimes my secretary says "I swear I am going to kill you!" when I take her chair without asking, especially when she's still sitting in it.

For a start, it would be a bad witness to me especially since I am meant to be a Christian but funny, our work environment is more casual and people do swear amongst each other, even the supervisors. But it is not done in an offensive construction worker like way. If you swore in the workplace I am in, you would be alright just as long as you are careful and you are fairly well known there. But I certainly wouldn't recommend doing it on your first week!

But, sir, you got me all wrong. I said life is a dirty floor, not you wife is a...oh, just forget about it....

I work for me so this doesn't matter much, but cursing in front of my platoon sergeant was expected and encouraged when I was in the Marines, especially if I'm cursing at the troops!

I'd never swear in front of a CLIENT, but my work environment isn't so uptight that employees and employers don't curse between ourselves (to a reasonable extent). If it were ALL the time, then yes, it would be bad, though.
