For some reason a Cardinal seems out of place in Arizona. Firebirds not too catchy but better.How about the Gila Monsters? These creatures are slow, tenacious, and deadly. Besides they are indigenous to the area.

And if they took this one, it would lend itself to interesting fan participation half-time contests - Free season tickets to the participant who can down the most ripple while the Sun Devil marching band is performing!
