09/10/2006 | Nothing great, but functional for those with long hair that don't want to just chop it off. Tying your hair in what is generally a big knot and sticking two "hairsticks" in it to hold it in place, it's quick, keeps your hair out of your face, and apparently is uncommon enough to make the "plain" bun look somewhat decorative without a lot of work. When lacking hairsticks, actual chopsticks or pencils/pens will do. It only takes one stick to keep it up, the second is generally for backup.
