 | Drummond (60) 12/01/2005 | Mostly for non-violent crimes. In California, we passed Proposition 36, which mandates counseling and alternatives to prison for all first time drug use crimes. It's reduced our jail population significantly, with some good results.

 | numbah16tdhaha (156) 12/01/2005 | LIKE WHAT? I'm all for jailing people when they break the law. How is that a bad idea? But we need to rehabilitate them, right? If they haven't figured it out and they are ADULTS, they deserve prison and all the charms it involves. (like a cellblock boyfriend)

 | GenghisTheHun (177) 12/01/2005 | Let's see now. I put you on probation and you violated it seventeen times. In the spirit of "progressivism," as your penalty, I'M PUTTING YOU ON PROBATION! Yeah, that makes sense!
