Well, the point is that we have an endangered species act to protect and individual species. Then when environmental groups sue on the act, they must name a particular species. The polluters then say that enviros are showing preference for an owl over human beings, when really it's about the loss of an entire class of habitat that affects many species and the overall ecosystem of the forests. But there is no relief for that. They have to choose a species.
