Average intelligence, I would think. Not very bright, but not completely stupid either. Basically a glorified carny entertainer playing the same yawn-inducing cartoon character year after year. What's he's lacking is not so much intelligence as it is basic human decency or ethical standards (not to mention talent and creativity). Seems to lack a conscience of any kind. Mocking a 13-year old Chelsea Clinton? Why not? Good for ratings. Mock a desperately ill Michael Fox? Hey, it's dog-eat-dog out there, buddy, and Dubya needs all the help he can get. After all, Fox News can't carry the burden alone, can they? If even a fragement of conscience does still exist, and he suffers from an occasional sleepless night, I'm sure the Oxycontin helps to soothe his quaking jowls and makes it seem like all is right (as in right-wing) with the world, at least until the morning. Like most successful sociopaths, though, I'm sure he's pretty much untroubled by the lies and poison he spews in the interests of making a buck. As for the dreary "ditto-heads" who continue to lap up his hateful, mendacious bile, they're a persistently, and depressingly, credulous bunch. God help them if they ever somehow awaken from their dream-like conservative stupor, and see the world for how it really is. It assuredly will be the kind of rude awakening for them that even a medicine-cabinet full of Vicodin and Percocet won't be able to cushion...

Just because Rush Limbaugh has stayed at the top of his game doesn't make him intelligent. The Three Stooges stayed at the top of their game for decades and nobody attributed great intelligence to them. They were just very capable buffoons.

Here is a guy at the top of his genre, and able to stay there in spite of some adversity. A lesser light would have folded long ago.

Strikes me as Three Stars and no more. He's horribly biased and misguided in his thinking. He's also a hypocrite who seems to like hobnobbing with political types to enhance his image. He's smart enough to know his audience and play to their fears and what they want to hear. Overall though, he's just of average intelligence.

I can't rate this fake any higher and have to rate his avid listeners even lower if I could, this guy is a travesty, for him to rant/rave about drug addicts and then be one himself is an absolute showing of his lack of brains and character! And, for those who forgive him and not the other drug addicts, shame on you!

Unlike Hannity, I actually have to give Rush credit.

He does go into rants sometimes but other than that he's reasonably intelligent.

Alas, this list does not clarify books smarts from common sense. While Limbaugh may have intelligence in communicating his opinions, getting hooked on narcotics and then purchasing them illegally through dealers does not merit much common sense in my book.
