Yeah, this guy's a real idiot.  One of the greatest experts on linguistics to ever walk the face of the planet.  Professor emeritus at one of America's most esteemed universities.  Political and social analyst who's been so dead on target that of course the neocon dimwits attempt to discredit him at every turn.  Those clowns are decidedly declasse at this point, having been absolutely wrong on virtually every issue for the past 30 years.  The proof is in the total mess this country is currently as a result of their warped, mutant ideology, and it will take about a decade, if we're lucky, to dig our way out of this GOP crapmess, yet, the righty droolers will continue to demonize one of America's great minds.  Ho-hum.  I, for one, have had enough of the stench wafting from the outhouse of the rightwing.  Years ago.

Communist and a professor in America

Chomsky had the intellect of a turnip.He was regurgitating communist propaganda pure and simple.

If he didn't constantly suggest that Israel is the 'cause of nearly every ill in the world today  I would never question his intelligence, and even then he's almost convincing.

Extremely bright free thinker.   Even when I find myself in disageement with him, I can't help but be in some awe of his intelligence.

Definitely one of the more outspoken progressive minds of our time.

Definitely brilliant. His cogent, disturbing analysis of 20-Century American foreign policy and international relations is more important now than ever before and should prove unsettling to all but the most doctrinaire conservative zealots. We ignore what he has to say at our own peril.

I have read several things by noam chomsky, and most assuredly goes without saying that the man is exceptionally bright. I don't neccessarily agree with some of his political views even though i would consider us to be on the same side of the fence, but he is an intellectual powerhouse in this country.

He is definitely arc light and should be on tv more often to rebut some the neo-cons infesting the airways.

Don't always agree with him, but his brilliance is indisputable.

Chomsky revolutionized modern linguistics. For that alone, he stands as one of the great minds of our time. Since the late sixties, his work on politics and media power has eclipsed his linguistics work in the public eye. In his writing, he challenges axioms and assumptions that are fundamental to many readers, and coaxes the reader to cast them aside, and view structures and events from a fresh perspective. Whether or not you agree with his conclusions, or change your mind is another thing, but the mental stretching always feels good.
