 | Jaws (10) 12/05/2005 | If it needed batteries I usually ended up running down to 7-11 on Christmas when I was a kid. I keep a stockpile of every size of battery. I hope I can use them before they expire.

 | HistoryFan (98) 12/02/2005 | When my mom bought toys for her nieces and nephews for Christmas, she ALWAYS MADE SURE to look on the box to see how many batteries the toys took (and what kind...i.e. double As, triple As, etc.).

 | Molfan (57) 12/02/2005 | so far we have not forgotten to buy batteries for those kind of gifts, and always make sure we include the first batch of batteries for someone else. I remember one year between our two kids when they were younger we must have bought about 5 or 6 toys that required batteries. Of course each one needed at least four batteries apiece. We just about gagged when we realized how much we were stuck spending on batteries. So I guess the guffaw was not forgetting to get batteries, but being dumb enough to buy too many toys that required them.
