I can't stand seeing parents trying to act like they're being victimized because their kid has expensive tastes or likes to run up the cell phone bill.

Uh, expensive electronics are not toys and when you're 10 or under toys (actual toys) should be the focus. No child of 10 needs either of these things. Sorry. I would say want in one hand and wiz in the other and see which one fills up first.

I have experienced this on some level. When my friend and I were both eight years old, we both wanted Nintendo systems (this was when the OLD NES system was on the market). My friend got hers....my parents didn't get me one until I was 10. In fact, my mom never wanted me to get one in the first place. Now with so many kids and "tween-agers" glued to these things, I can now understand why my mom wouldn't let me get one in the first place..heh, heh.

I'd tell my kid, " Well, I want Texas A&M to win a national title in anything. You get me that, and I'll give you a cell phone and an iPod."

Get them the i-Pod and tell them to look up the song titled "Stick the Cell Phone Up Your Arse"

all i can say is shame on the parent who bought the spoiled rotten child presents like this. And yes i know of parents who buy their kids everything on the list no matter how expensive.{probably patting themself on the back and thinking I am such a good parent}I am not saying not to buy a more costly gift but a whole list full? no.
