 | LastMessenger3 (40) 12/17/2006 | This is so bizzare, but something that happened to me for real. We were doing secret Santa at work, so I pulled this girls name that loved Angels. Earlier, I saw angel dolls being for sale in Michael's. I ran and got it. On the day of the gift exchange, this girl opens my gift and almost pukes. This angel stunk like s#$%. I don't know where the store was keeping this merchandise, but it was somewhat embarassing. I recomended to exchange her gift for something instead, but she loved it. Anyway,...this story still makes me laugh .

 | LadyJesusFan777 (33) 06/21/2006 | People should really be thankful that others are thinking of them on this very special occasion. I think it's very unthoughtful of someone to actually complain about their gift. Besides, the greatest Gift was already given over 2000 years ago.

 | kamylienne (77) 12/04/2005 | My mom has this horrible habit of returning gifts that my sisters and I give her. She does this even to things that she ASKS for. This, as you could imagine, is highly upsetting to her daughters, who put a LOT of thought into what we get her for each holiday, only to have it returned to the store. We don't want to give her just cash, but she feels that gifts are a "waste of money". She doesn't understand how insulting it is.
But I finally found the solution:
Get it engraved with something personal. There's no way she can return it. I'm sure my mom will find a way someday, somehow, but I'm milking this for all it's worth until that day comes.

 | BugahaNE (19) 12/03/2005 | Only a completely reprehensible person would tell you they do not like your gift. Anyone who would say that, I doubt they are receiving gifts or invitations from too many people anyway.

 | scarletfeather (47) 12/02/2005 | Fine. That's one less person I have to get a present for next year. Forgive me for sounding like a Scrooge, but Christmas shopping can be a pain, particularly if the person in question is cranky or hard to please.

 | HistoryFan (98) 12/02/2005 | Molfan, I read somewhere that giving giftcards is considered "tacky" because the gift giver doesn't put in the effort to find the receiver a good present....but I disagree.
Everyone I know that I have given giftcards to have enjoyed their presents. I think it's better to give them a GC to their favorite store and let them go crazy. It's a lot more fun that way.

 | Molfan (57) 12/02/2005 | It is not a nice feeling if someone is rude about a present I bought them. I can usually tell too. they may not come out and say that but even a disappointed look tells it all. I think this is why we buy quite a few gift cards for some people. It is not that I am lazy i spend countless hours and days trying to get a nice gift. but it just seems that it is sometimes easier to get a gift card to a store I may know they like and let them get something they really want.

 | CastleBee (81) 12/02/2005 | Pretty big guffaw when a simple, "By the way, do you have a gift receipt?", would do. Also the last time the person would have to worry about receiving a gift from me, stinky or other wise.

 | frogio (47) 12/02/2005 | Fine, Uncle Bill....the seller on Ebay misrepresented the description of "Box-O-Crap" to you. It still doesn't mean I'm taking it home with me.
