who's grandma actually cooks horrible food? From what I can remember, it was some of the best cooking I've ever had the pleasure of feasting on.

My grandmother on my mom's side was a great cook, but she rarely did do the cooking for the large family gatherings. My other grandmother, however, was a different story. They had vegetables fresh from the garden, which sounds good at first, until you know that my grandfather used to use his, um, "own fertilzer"; my mother never let us eat at their place, and there were no complaints from me!

I always eat my own custom Christmas dinner because of my different tastes, now usually cooked by myself. So, no problems with that here!

I never experienced this....my grandparents were excellent cooks.

I think disgusting food by a grandmother is the realm of bad Christmas movies and sitcom Christmas episodes. I agree with Tboneya, my grandma's cooking was fantastic.

Both my grandmothers died when I was very young, so unfortunately I did not have the privilege of consuming their culinary creations. However, I have heard tell of of my paternal grandmother's expertise, and my mouth waters just thinking of the ham with "red-eye gravy" she made. Yum!
