I suppose it is fine as a hot dish. They say that Democrats eat 79.6% of all rutabagas.

I love rutabaga but, I have never thought of it as a Thanksgiving staple. Since it's a root veggie I guess that makes sense. I could see it having been something used by the first Thanksgiving attendees.
