He has seemed fairly consistent to me. His stand on issues has not changed since he went into office.

Vowed to get Bin Laden, then said I'm not concerned about him...Changed the reasons for invading Iraq like diapers, vowed to be a uniter then divided the people and parties like never before...the list could go on and on.

First ignored the U.N., now he wants their help to rebuild Iraq. Then he wanted to amend the Constitution to abolish gay marriage but now won't talk about it because he knows it will never fly. Refused to do anything but talk tough about the war, now he says that he shouldn't have said some of the things he said. And last but not least, he pretends to be a Christian but has lied about weapons, terrorists, and will answer to his god about the meaningless death of over 10 thousand people. Americans will forget - the world will remember.

No, like it or hate it, he seems to say what he means and means what he says. That doesn't always make him right of course, but it does make him decisive. Now that other guy - what was his name again Kelly, Kennedy, Kankersore...

Okay, let's get it straight. Changing your stance on something over time due to circumstances, events, or debate is not a flip flop. Changing your stance on something to kiss up to the group of people you happen to be speaking to or because you think it's what people want to hear is a flip flop.

Anonymous's comment way at the bottome took the letters right off of my keyboard. Bush is MUCH more of a flip-flopper than Kerry, and flip-flops on more important things, which is more dangerous.

The point of flip-flopping, in my opinion, is when it is done to appease voters for votes. GW's strength in this past election was he clarity. You know where he stood on the issues. If you didn't like it, you had a choice. Kerry's flip-flopping was clearly to give voters something they wanted to hear depending on the audience. It was for voters. Evidently, this lack of clarity didnot sit well with most voters. Examples given earlier of GW's so called flip-flopping were statements made while he was not campaigning for re-election.

All politicians change their minds. Sometimes its because of a true change in belief, and others its simply to advance their political standing. Most politicians, including Kerry and Bush, are guilty of the latter. Flip-flopper and politician is virtually synonomous.

And some say Kerry's a flip-flopper? Look at Bush! Just a few flip-flops here: he opposed creation of a Department of Homeland Security, then he supported it. He opposed a Constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, then he supported it. He said that Weapons of Mass Destruction were found, then he said they weren't. Bush said he wanted Osama bin Laden no matter what, then he said he didn't care about him. (This is what G. W. once said at a press conference: I don't know where he [bin Laden] is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him... I truly am not that concerned about him.) For a full discussion of George W. Bush's flip-flopping, visit http://www.americanprogress.org/site/pp.asp?c=biJRJ 8OVF&b=42263.
