W is not my favorite politician but he has undeniably shown a lot of courage. Unlike his predecessor in the White House, he has not been standing around waiting for the results of an opinion poll to dictate his next move. Right or wrong, he is a person of conviction and he has acted on those convictions ... at great personal expense. With the possible exception of Dan Quayle he has been the greatest GOP target of ridicule. And more than any other successful conservative politician in my lifetime, he is hated ... and none of it slows him down. He continues to act as he believes is in the best service of his country. He didn't receive my vote either time he ran for the presidency, but W is OK in my book. And ultimately, history is going to treat him a lot more nicely than the disaster he replaced in the executive office.

He has faced much and accomplished much more than any recent president. Starting with a recession that he inherited and he personally did not pass the blame, but took it head on. Then the god-awful 9/11. He has brought about more things because he said "We will go." He is courageous to stick by his beliefs even when he knows he will be roasted. FYI DACCORY: Bush did not appoint himself "leader of the free world" That is a title that has been given to the Presidency since the days of the Cold War. Your knowledge of titles and history is a little bit weak.

Christ, gimme a break will ya?! This man has no courage. He's a know-nothing, do-nothing, radical southern conservative, crappy, inarticulate freaky mudslinging bastard. During the Pope's funeral, he was roundly booed by the entire Vatican. Once he leaves office in January 2009, he'll be left with no friends.

Here's the thing, Geogre Bush understands something that everyone else cannot seem to grasp. He knew what he was getting into when he went into Iraq. He knew how long it would take, how many lives would be lost and the confusion there would be afterward. He knew this was all inevitable but he also knew the consequences. The consequences are a better world and a model for the way democracy can be done in the Middle East. He's sticking to his guns and not pulling out because doing so would just be like screwing Iraq over, and he knows this. President Bush knows that as a country with so much it is our duty to say people from being slaughtered by the thousands in soccer fields with the wealthy watching. He knows that it is our responsibility to save children from living in the fear that they will wake up with their father gone and that they are never to see him again. He knows what comes with being a land of plenty and he is willing to pay the price, even if some selfish others are not. President Bush is one of the most courageous men out there, because he is willing to stand up for what he knows.

If George Bush has appointed himself leader of the free world, he should have allowed the rest of the world to vote in the US elections. He is the President of the US only. There's no courage when you have billions of nuclear weapons at your disposal.

George W. Bush had the bravery to contribute to the world things that no one else had the courage to do. Bush knew that his decisions now could cost him his political reputation but he didn't care. He understood what the words in his oath of office meant and has managed to honor that oath more than many of his prodecessors ever did.

It took guts to take on Saddam Hussein when the bribed France and Germany were blinded by money and unable to see how truly evil the madman dictator of Iraq was. Now, Hussein is captured, his sons are dead, and democracy has come to Iraq! Also, after 9/11, he showed that America would not back down and give into punk terrorists! Now, THAT takes true courage!
