I second the words of BlackStar27 and redsox0077. In addition, I think Kweli really shows his prowess with K.O.S., which was a very tight conscious song, and the beat encourages the listener to hearken with educated ears. Also I might note Thieves In the Night, which I personally think was an astounding joint project by Kweli and Mos Def. This is a must buy. Get some money and buy this f*cking album immediately.

as almost everyone who hears it says, this album is undeniable. however, despite RE;DEFinition( the redeaming breath of fresh after the commercial definition), the album only picks up on K.O.S. kweli was king. the best song on the album is Respiration where both Mos Def and Kweli both shit all over thier once idolised Common. if you disagree find the lyrics, try and grasp thier flow and if you still disagree, suk ma dik.

Respiration is an amazing song (thanks to help from Common). Brown skin lady is great too, but these can't carry the whole CD

Subtly intricate and stimulating beats. Add the amazing lyricism and flow of Talib Kweli and Mos Def (two of the best MCs today), and throw in appearances by the likes of Common and you have an instant classic.

Black Star's raw lyricism and conscious skill prove that rap can be much better than the gansta, crunk and pop-rap is all over the radio and MTV these days. Mos Def and Talib Kweli are the perfect complements to each other's styles, and are a very potent combo on the mic. Both have gone on to successful solo careers and remain, in my mind, 2 of the best emcees in all of hip hop. Black Star is an absolute classic, a must-own for a real hip hop fan.
