I would have given 0 if that had been an option!
This company is crap! They are a broker and the talk a good talk making you think you are getting a great deal and your stuff will be delivered exactly when you need it. The sales people are sleezey and get things moving along and want you to commit to their serivce right away. I was promised a pickup date of Wednesday and they did not arrive until Thursday afternoon. The movers were speaking some foreign language the entire time they were in the house which made me very nervous. Oh oh and they came in an out of state Penske truck, not exactly the most professional situation. I was assured that my delivery date of the 6th was not a problem but then as soon as they picked up my stuff I was called and told that the delivery would be at my destination on the 28th and I would have to pay for storage until the 6th. They were asking if I wanted to pay for storage and at that point you have no choice since they have your stuff! Then from that point on it is very difficult to get ahold of anyone to speak to you.
So even after paying for storage for delivery on the 6th (Tuesday) I ended up having to wait until Saturday night for my my stuff to be delivered! Not the worse scenerio on this site but bad enough. Luckily I had time on Saturday evening/Sunday to get my stuff unpacked before I started work. I would never use this company again. I should have shipped it UPS!

World Moving Services was supposed to pick up our belongings on Thursday morning. Wednesday, they called to say they'd be there Thursday afternoon. Thursday morning, they called to say that they would have to postpone until Friday morning at 7:00AM. They arrived Friday morning at 7:30. But, the dispatcher reassured me, they would deliver on Monday to make up for it.

Monday came and went.

So did Tuesday.

And Wednesday.

Thursday they called to say that our belongings wouldn't be delivered until the following Tuesday. Frustrated, I called to speak to my friendly account manager. He's my advocate, right? At least, that's what he told me when he said he'd call the driver and see about getting things pushed forward to the weekend.

By Saturday evening, when I still hadn't heard anything, I accepted that this was just a dishonest ploy to get me off the phone.

Now, Monday, they called to say that they can't make Tuesday. They can't give me a date yet, but the truck hasn't left and it's a two-day trip. I feel as if my belongings are being held hostage by a company that has a casual disregard for their agreements and the satisfaction of their customers. I will never, NEVER entrust my material possessions to World Moving Services again, and, as competitive as the moving market is right now, would encourage anyone reading this to do the same.

Can I put zero stars? This moving company is the worst!!! My sales rep painted a rosy picture as long as I would sign the contract. He stated that my moving price was an estimate. However, when the weight of my move came in less, the sales person was nowhere to be found and the "estimate" magically transformed into a firm number. I have spent endless hours dealing with these idiots and it's always a different person. Don't even think about using this company or be prepared for hours of hassle with people that are out to steal from you.

Run the other direction as fast as you can. I picked World Moving because their sales staff was really friendly and pro-active. As soon as I signed a deposit that all changed. Although E., my original representative, estimated a move for about $2500, I was transferred to anther representative who basically doubled the estimated weight, and therefore doubled the price. They tried to pick up two days earlier than when the were supposed to, only called one of our pick-up locations to let them know, and then yelled at my relative when she said the move could not take place early. This was about the time the customer service rep stopped returning my calls. Their subcontracted movers informed me that because I could not move earlier, it would cost me an extra $300 in fees. World Movers never responded to my complaint. My delivery date was moved twice, and moved past the date listed in my contract. No one bothered to inform me, so I only found out when I called the movers directly. Then he asked me how I was going to pay. Since no one ever told me my final amount, I didn't even know what the cost was. World Movers had no idea what it was. I called the van line directly and was told I needed a cashier's check for the balance. How was I supposed to know this? They would have shown up (eventually) and I would have had no money for them. This move was nothing short of a nightmare and ended up being way more expensive than it was supposed to be. The customer service rep out-and-out LIED to me to get me to sign the contract. Call a van line directly. You'll be glad you did.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I read the reviews on this website after booking my move with WMS and still decided to go ahead with them which was a huge mistake. I won't go through the details of my terrible experience as you can read plenty of them on this site. I will however provide several FACTS about this company that you should know:

-WMS is broker. Despite what they may tell you and how they try to word it (I was told they had a "sister company" that did the physical transportatoin for all moves, which was a LIE. WMS will simply take your load and give it to the CHEAPEST POSSIBLE MOVING COMPANY they can find.

-WMS is a terrible broker. The only reason you would ever pay a broker instead of just going directly to the moving company is to take advantage of price discounts the broker can leverage or the superior customer service they proivide. WMS does neither...

-WMS provides absolutely no customer service once they receive your money. The company is extremly attentive right up until they get your money, at that point, no one in the company will talk with you and you will be forced to deal with whatever carrier they chose for you directly.

-WMS holds absolutely no responsibility for loss or damange incurred during a move. This is in the fine print, but you should be aware that no matter what happens on your move, WMS will not do anything about it.

-Will Rippy is LIAR. If you are unfortunate enough to get Mr. Will Rippy as your contact, Hang up the Phone. Will blatantly lied to me repeatedly and on key issues such as "Your load will be moved with our sister moving company" = LIE (I got "Best Movers" who just put three guys in a rented Penske truck...) "Your load will definitely end up being less than the quote" = LIE "Your load will not be transloaded and will stay on the same truck the entire time" = ABSOLUTE LIE (this was the only reason I went with the company, and it was a blatant lie, my load was transloaded several times and severely damaged in the process" the biggest one: "I will be there for you the entire move to make sure everything goes allright" = LIE (once they have your money, he stops returning your calls.

Basically my advise is to either:
- Go with one of the big, well known moving companies. In the end they honestly won't be much more expensive and will guarantee you a smooth move.

-If you want a smaller, cheaper carrier, then just book with them directly. You'll save money and you'd end up having to deal with them directly with WMS anyway.

-If you want to go through a broker, pick one that will actually provide you with customer service, unlike WMS.

The people at WMS are unethical and should be ashamed of themselves!

I had a great experience w/World Moving Services. I spoke at length w/Gerald. He was exceedingly polite and patient. He explained in great detail how their service worked and how it was priced. He was also clear as to what I should expect, and how to avoid nasty surprises. [like inaccurate weight estimates on my end.] I explained my situation. I had to make a move for my disabled brother with VERY short notice from CO to MA. Both he and his manager Peter bent over backwards to accomodate my situation. Once I had made a reservation and given the credit card # for the downpayment, I received very bad news. My brother had had a serious medical emergency and the move was off, at least for now. The team at World movers was considerate and gave me a full refund without any fuss. I enjoyed working with them. They were knowledgeable, articulate and set clear expectations.

Run and dont look back!!! If you have allready put down a deposit, cut your line and let them keep your deposit as you will be better off. I wish I would have.

This company gave my wife the lowest quote and assured her that "a grad piano" could be added in terms of weight and space to our move without additional cost or consequence. The representative, Gerald, also assured her that the date and time that we needed the movers to be there that they would come and load our items.

Our nightmare began the morning that, according to Gerald, the movers were to come. After the morning passed with no call or movers we called the moving company. We were quickly told that regardless of what we were assured by Gerald our contract is what mattered. Be advised to read every part of your lengthy contract, even the small print, and do not take forgranted that what you are assured will actually happen if it is not in the contract. The contract states that the movers can come anytime within a two day time period and deliver your items somewhere within something like a 16 day time period. The movers indicated that they would not be there until the next morning.

The next morning came and no movers. About two hours after the time they were supposed to arrive we recieved a call indicating that their truck had broken down and that they were waiting to get a mechanic to come and fix it. It is important to mention that when they called the movers were in a neighboring state approximately a 2 hour drive from my residence. To their credit they called me after the mechanic arrived and told me that they would arrive at my residense within a two hour window. The window came and left and no movers...They finally showed up an hour and a half after this and cited traffic as the reason for the holdup. Throughout this experience I called the moving company who refused to extend any sympathy or help. When I asked if I could cancel the move or if they could find someone else to move my goods I was told no and reminded that any change would result to me loosing my hefty deposit. By the way in the middle of all of this a very confusing reality was explained to me. World moving will not be the actual company doing your move. They use sub contracting companies so if anything happens you are caught between the two companies and they often blame things on each other or deny that they have the power to help you as a result of the other company.

Once they arrived the driver and crew preceeded to get out of their truck and look at what they were to load. After the driver saw my items he told me that I had far more items than what were on my estimate and that they would not fit in his truck. When I began to respond by telling him that we told Gerald everything that we had and he estimated the space and weight, an argument ensued between us. The mover insisted that he could not fit my items in his truck (which was 3/4 loaded with someone elses goods) and indicated that he did not have to move me and drove off from my residence. As my back was turned (My five friends who witnessed this whole ordeal informed me) that the mover turned around and directed an aggressive "F*@# You" to me accompanied by an offensive non-verbal gesture. Shortly after this event I contacted the moving company, informed them of what took place and they contacted the subcontracting company who then called me. The subcontracting company indicated that the driver was tired, hungry and sorry for his behavior. In addition they told me that he could fit my items into his truck and that he was coming back to load me. At this point I voiced strong reservations about this person moving me especially with everything that had transpired. I was told by World Moving that if I did not allow them to load my stuff, I would breech my contract and loose my deposit. Looking back, this would have been my best option.

I allowed the movers to load my stuff as the driver apologized and assured me that he would take good care of my stuff. In addition I did not want to loose my deposit. Around the time about half of my items were loaded the next drama unfolded as one of the movers called the police on the other movers indicating that they where threatening to not pay him and beat him up later that night. The police then came to my residence and the mover who called the police left with the police to go home. The remaining movers continued to load my items and at almost 10 pm they told me that they were not going to be able to fit all of my items in their truck. The movers assured me that they would come back and get my items on the next move in the area and then where off with everything I owned.

The next day I received a call from the moving company who informed me that I was over weight and there was going to be an additional $1100 fee on top of the estimate. When I protested I was informed that according to the contract my stuff would not be delivered until I paid them in full. I talked on the phone with their customer service department, supervisors and my estimator in sum for over five hours that day. The company would take no responsibility for the bad estimate or any of their verbal commitments. I was told that I may be able to receive some compensation for my inconvieniences but that could not be determined until after the move. The situation that you are in is basically pay what they tell you or you will not get your stuff.

The nightmare is almost over. Be advised that the movers demand to be paid BEFORE they unload your stuff and know that you must pay them in cash or post office money order. Both methods allow them to leave with no responsibility or chance of future protest as would be possible with a credit card or other payment methods. A couple hours before the movers arrived at my residence I recieved a phone call from the company that informed me that I was being charged an additional $180 because of the number of steps to my door. Once the movers arrived they had two guys they had picked up along the way who unloaded most of my stuff. They paid these individuals a couple hundred dollars in cash for their work. The positive is that nothing was broken by the movers.

I was later told by the moving company that because I was overweight they had no responsibility to move the rest of my items that were over 1300 miles away. Despite the fact that these items could have fit in the back of a pick up truck the company told me that I had to set up a minimum move which would run me aroud $1000 to have the rest of my stuff brought to me (many items were listed on my moving list that were left). The truck driver offered me a deal to do it on the side but at this point I was not going for that. I ended up borrowing a pickup truck and driving the 2600 miles round trip myself.

In terms of the compensation for the complaint, I received a call indicating that because of what had happened the company felt that I was entitled to a $60 refund. So my move ended up costing almost double the estimate with all of the above mentioned issues. Oh yeah and the truck was a Penske rental.

Please do yourself a favor and run far away from this company and go with someone else.

Worst experience ever. They give you a quick pitch and a low price and keep none of their promises. A week before the move they will call you and do a price increase. I would never ever use them. Be very skeptical. They do not use their own trucks, they are just a broker to other companies and the company the scheduled our move with was not even accredited with the BBB.

Nightmare!!

Thank you all for warning me about world moving. I was able to avoid the nightmare that you faced. I called them and was surprised to get a very quick estimate that came in at less than half of what reputable companies that I knew well were going to charge. The salesman gave me a pitch saying that booking with them is like booking with an airline. Book NOW or the price will go up! I was suspicious that he wanted my credit card number so quickly and he didn't even ask very many questions that I thought were important (like the worth of my stuff, how many bedrooms I would be moving from and in to, etc.) He didn't even ask if I was in an apartment or a house!! I thought...this must be a scam and quickly hung up. I found this website and was relieved that I had avoided the problems that everybody else has been facing.

THANK YOU!!

Thieves. These people wittingly rooked me by charging 3x the estimated price of the move. (The original estimate, done by their own professional estimator was supposedly the weight of each item
x 2, so that I'd get a refund on the other end of the move. They doubled the doubled weight.) On the day of the pick-up, the driver asked me if I wanted to buy insurance, and I said YES and asked about the rates, and he replied, "I dunno." So I had no insurance. They hired a single trucker, not a mover, who asked me IF I COULD HELP HIM OFFLOAD. When the truck pulled up, it was a regular, unmarked truck with a CARDBOARD SIGN with the words "World Moving attached to the doors of the truck.I'm a 60 year old woman who paid DEARLY for that part of the service. I ended up hiring 3 extra men to do that ($$).

They gave me 5 different delivery dates, required me to drive to New Hampshire (from Boston) to witness the weighing of the truck. Never told of this before. They opened all my boxes and threw the contents into other boxes so couldn't locate anything. They damaged furniture and box contents. When I called the slimey salesman who made the deal with me, he just repeatedly said, "WHAT!!??" about my complaints and transferred my call to another department.
They are rip-off artists who hire other trucking companies to do the actual move (the cheaper the better? and they take no responsibility for the move!) Allstar Transfer of Edmonds, WA was the hired movers who screwed me equally. Worldwide Moving Services took no responsibility.

We found this company before we read any of these reviews and had already put down a pretty big deposit when we found out their bad history on this site. We were so nervous but could not afford to lose our deposit so we went with the company in spite of all we read here. In the end, the company came through, picking up and delivering our things on time and undamaged except for our vacuum which we did not pack properly, so it's mostly our fault.
The price was actually below our estimate, so we were also pleased with how that worked out. However, we do have a few complaints. The salesman told us things about the company moving us that were not true. They promised that our things would not switch trucks, but it was obvious they moved our things from truck to truck at least once. Also, after we put down our deposit, it was very difficult to talk to our salesguy again. It's obvious that once they've made the sale, they don't really care about follow-up.
So, we gave it 3 stars because the move came through and the price was right, but they are not always honest, nor do they answer phone calls, which is a bad failing for such an important and expensive service.

RUN THE OTHER WAY!!! Classic bait & switch. They led me right to their BBB A+ rating, I paid a $1622.97 deposit. Two days later, Carlos called from "Quality Control" and said if I don't raise my weight estimate another 1000LBS (at $1100), I'm going to have a REALLY angry crew show up for the move, and that they'll be really ticked if they have to load anything that's not on the inventory list. I told him I wanted to talk to my salesman Eric, and he said "This is my move now, it has nothing to do with Eric. You can talk to Eric all you want, it doesn't mean anything".

I told him to cancel my move. Carlos said "What are you crazy? You'll lose your $1600 deposit, does money grow on trees for you?". I cancelled anyway, as I knew I'd be out WAY more than $1100 if they got my stuff on their truck.

Once they have your deposit, you're toast, everything changes, and they'll point out your gloomy future if you don't take their increase!!!!

Their A+ BBB rating turned into a C+ in a week. RUN!!!!

I would run away from this company if you can. They gave me the cheapest estimate of 7 places, so I had foolishly placed a reservation with them and gave them my credit card number. This was against my better judgment, as the smooth-talking Will Rippy smacked of non-trustworthiness with his sales pitch and constant reassurances that they were the best and nothing would go wrong. Then I came to this website and got freaked out reading others' reviews. I cancelled my reservation the next day and signed absolutely nothing, and they still charged me $665 on my credit card for the "deposit" even though I made it abundantly clear I wished to cancel the order, and this is for a moving reservation 2.5 months in advance. I've emailed Will Rippy and left two messages in the last day on their customer service line, and surprise surprise, no one has contacted me yet. Looks like they are going to make me hound them to get that deposit back.

This company's customer service is the worst I have ever encountered. They contracted to move my furniture and auto within specific dates and then did not show up on time. This caused me to incur additional costs of changing a scheduled airline flight, which they agreed to reimburse in full, and then reimbursed me for less than half of the amount. They owe me over $500. In addition, when the movers packed my belongings they didn't wrap breakables correctly and cracked the glass on pictures as well as damaging several collectibles.
I wish I had checked them more closely; I relied on the BBB site which gave them an A+. They are worth maybe a D+ at best.

1 star is too good. I spoke to the smooth taking Karlos who never returns phone calls. I was in need of a fast move and believed his hype. I foolishly signed the contract and never heard form him again. The person in the claims department, Alec, told me that he doesn't know anything and I forfeit my deposit for canceling. Everything that was said was a lie to get me to sign. Over estimated weight with promises of big refunds for the difference. DON'T USE. Another company told me he knows the owner and he has went to jail a few times. Wish I checked them out better and saw this site first.

(1 star given by default!)PROFESSIONAL SCAM ARTIST pose as "Your Personal Moving Consultant" (we had Karlos) to help you through your move. There needs to be a class action lawsuit brought against this company. They ripped us off for $1,108.66 for services we never got. They sent five men-only one spoke fluent English-in a little raggedy beat up truck to move a full 2 level condo. We were immediately asked for another deposit from these "contracted out" movers and to sign another contract because, by looking at my property (probably the value of what I had), I had more than was estimated. While making call to get a hold of the scam artist that set up the move for us, the one English-speaking worker pulled me to the side and told me "Don't sign anything. They do this all the time and they rip people off". This guy then offered to get a buddy of his and a rental truck and move me straight to my destination. All I had to do is rent the truck, pay for gas and give him and his friend $250 a piece. No, I didnt have IDIOT written on my forehead but let him think I would be giving him a call. Karlos told me everything would be okay and that it was a misunderstanding-we were not to sign any other papers. The next day they sent four men and again, only one spoke English. This crew was much more professional in appearance. They then told us that we had to sign a contract with them in order for them to move anything. By the way, Karlos assured me that there would only be ONE team of movers moving/handling my property, thus minimizing the chain of liability. I was very adamant on this point and expressed this to Karlos. So, while I am thinking I am going to have one team of movers loading, transporting and unloading my property. When talking to the first team of movers, through broken English, I was told that my property was NOT going straight to my destination as I was told. Instead, it was going to sit in a warehouse in Chicago and sit until there was enough freight to load a truck going in the direction of my destination and that they could not guarantee when my property would be delivered! This started in September and we are still disputing the NON-REFUNDALBE deposit through our credit card company. By the number of complaints and negative postings.any attorney interested in the possibility of a class action lawsuit -please take em on! You can also check soon for my posting on RipoffReport.com. I want my money back and I am sure these other people do to. Also, I highly recommend NATIONAL VAN LINES MOVING. Extremely professional, clean, courteous and very reasonable. Oh, they are also HONEST! Tracy

World Moving Services is HORRIBLE!!! This was a night mare from the moment I signed the papers. They charged me $220.00 for insurance then when they damaged my refrigerator they said my insurance would not cover beyond 90 days - they knew my stuff would be in storage for over 245 days but they sold me the insurance any way. They almost lost my stuff because they did not tell me I would owe monthly storage fees. I was in an empty house for over a month before they delivered my stuff. I would not use this service - they are not even the movers they are just brokers. Bad business very, very bad! Paula from Indiana to Colorado

We called World Moving several times a day when our things did not arrive. Had to find that information from a towing company that was storing the van with our things. Now they will not refund all of our deposit. When you call them they will put you on hold for long periods of time. We had to spend an extra $1,000 & loss of work time and very stressful experience. DO NOT USE this company. Tell your friends and anyone that will listen. I will continue to spread the word. If there is any where else I can post, please let me know.

World Moving Service 888-742-6683 has been a nightmare. They tell you what you want to hear to get the business than do not delivery. #1 I paid a $680 dollar deposit, which by the way doesnt apply to the moving fee. Come to find out its a broker fee.... So basically you paid someone to contact a mover which we could have done ourselfs. On contract shows deposit. But now I find it you look closely on there contract they hide this in one of there paragraphs. #2 couldnt do date promised day before pick up or delv. When told them I had to cancel due to couldnt delivery as promised they tell you they wont refund your deposit. #3 said would take balance on cc when they get there they tell you no. Had to speak to a manager to clear this up. #4 The price quoted turned out to be double(How does that happen) Than they have your belongings hostage until you pay When call to complain about there business practices they get nasty ****DO NOT USE WORLD MOVING SERVICE FOR ANYTHING**** I will try to recoupe some of this because they were way over priced and lied to get business.................

What a nightmare!  DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!  I was promised a delivery date of 10/25/08, it's now 11/1/08 and I still don't have my stuff.  My agent Kiser Young, refuses to return any of my calls.  The 2 times I was able to get through to Kiser, he immediately transferred me to their Customer Service department, who informed me they had no knowledge of any promises made by Kiser Young.  I was told I could pay by Cashiers Check, when the moving company, called they said no it had to be Cash or Money order.  When I asked who they were, they said they were the company who was actually moving me.  Never believe anything World Moving Services says, and if you are unfortunate enough to call them and get Kiser Young, immediately hang up, the man is a bold face liar, he will tell you anything to get your non-refundable deposit!

OH my god. I wish I had found this site before I let them do my move.

So, now that I am needing a reprieve from unpacking boxes, I wanted to be sure and warn everyone against using World Moving Services for your move. To say I was not pleased with World Moving Services would be the understatement of the year.

Before choosing World Moving Services, I told them that it was between them and one other moving company and my determing factor was if they could do the "pack and load" on the day I needed. They assured me that they could. I took the day off from work, and got all ready for the move, which was scheduled for Friday. Late in the evening on the night before, having never heard from the dispatcher on what time they would be arriving the next morning, I began calling the toll-free number. After many calls to my "agent" they let me know that my move had been pushed back by one day and they wouldn't be arriving until Saturday. The agent (Tom) who was supposed to be "with me through the whole experience" stopped returning my calls on Thursday night.  I still haven't heard from him after placing multiple calls asking him to call me.

I had given them a very detailed inventory over the phone and they gave me a "not to exceed price." However when the movers arrived they informed me that it was a straight charge per pound per mile. Luckily, I had estimated well but it still went over by a couple hundred dollars.  So much for the "not to exceed" price.

Also, in the whole process, World Moving Services never informed me that when the movers arrived at my new home for delivery they would not take a credit card. They certainly accepted my credit card when needing a deposit over the phone to reserve my move date (which they didn't meet anyway). The night before the move, a company called Cross Country Movers called me and told me they would be moving me. This was the first time I had heard of this company. They then informed me that I had to pay in cash or cashier's check or money order and they would not unload the truck until they were paid in full. This was also when I found out that I would be charged a per pound/per mile charge instead of my quoted NTE price.

I had no idea who was going to show up on moving day. Then a small truck and two men pulled up. I told them that I didn't think the truck was big enough to move my stuff and asked if other people would be coming to help them. They said that it was just the two of them. I told them that when I moved the last time, there was a team of six guys. It took them all day and in the end there wasn't enough room on the truck for 3 planters, my vacuum cleaner and the two table leaves for my formal dining table. I had to arrange to store these items with a neighbor and will be driving back to Philadelphia to get them. The two guys did the best they could, and I felt sorry that their company had sent only two people for what was obviously a much bigger job.

All-in-all it was the worst, most unprofessional move I have experienced, and as you all know, I've moved a lot over the last four years. So...they have my money (paid via money order) and they made an already stressful time even more stressful...but I have a blog and lots of friends. And friends don't let friends move with World Moving Services.

DONT USE THIS COMPANY! I rated it a 1 because you have to rate at least one star to post!!!
My husband and I were moving to Wyoming and called to get quotes about two months in advance. WMC came up with the most reasonable quote so we went with them. Well, moving day came and went and no movers- so we called customer service (since our "representative that will be with you throughout your move" couldn't be bothered) and were treated so poorly by the women in the department that both my husband and I hung up on them multiple times, calling back to talk to someone else. The mean (I wish I could use harsher language here) women said that WE had our moving dates wrong, even though we had emailed and faxed SEVERAL TIMES to change to move dates and were told that we were confirmed. The manager we asked to speak to was just as rude and when we decided to cancel, they said they couldn't refund our money because they were still within the 5 day window for pickup. WORST COMPANY IN THE WORLD. My advice, go with North American Van Lines- they came to our house, gave us a quote in person AND came to the rescue in one day after our moving fiasco with WMS.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, YOU WILL BE SORRY. I will rate this company 0 (zero). They cannot be trusted. They promised toshow to show up at certain time and they were 10 hours late. They made us miss our flight and they said that they did not violate anything.
They promised to deliver within 5 days from the pickup date, 2 weeks later and they still they have not delivered.
When we complained, they stated that the verbal promises are made to make a sell and they are not responsible for them. Only the tiny little writing on the agreement counts.
These people should not be trusted.

I have never been through anything worse in my whole life. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You will be sorry. They low ball you on the estimate and then charge you double. You have to pay what they say before you get your furniture unloaded!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! They don't deserve any stars at all. They promised me they had a truck, gave me the name of the company they contracted out to, which I checked out and was fine with. One week before the move, they told me that they didn't have anyone after all and wouldn't let me cancel until the day after they were supposed to come so I could get my deposit back because they said that even though they didn't have anyone to move me, I would violate the contract. Since I was on a time crunch, I ended up calling UPack and doing it myself. These people do not belong in business at all.

The company doesn't return phone calls, keeps you on hold, and offers generally bad service. Find a more reliable company.

Moving from Michigan to Arizona with this moving company was one of the most stressful experiences I've had. I did not know they actually hire someone else to do the actual moving. After pick up they charged me 700 dollars more then they estimated for the # of lbs I had. 1$ for each additional lb. They origanally told me there was a 3 day window of delivery. Truck did not leave until 8 days after pick up & later then they told me delivery would be between 3-10 days after it arrives in Arizona. Please do not us this company you'll pay much more in the long run in different ways. The process they tell you originally is very different then the work ethics you really get. Once they hold your furniture it's a whole new ballgame. One star is too much

one star is way too high for this company. They do not tell you that sell your contract to another company. I ended up dealing with Best Price Moving and Storage out of Chicago and there can't be a worse company than them. They broke my furniture, then looked for loophole to get out of paying for the damage they caused.

We moved from Lafayette, In to Philadelphia, PA. There were several problems with this company. 1. They never told me they were not the actual moving company. It came as a big suprise when three guys showed up a day late in a Ryder truck. No uniforms, no logos, a Ryder truck for goodness sake! I could have rented that myself. 2. World Moving never told our movers we were moving into a third floor apartment. This cost us extra or they would have left our stuff in our parking lot. 3. Cash to the movers. THat's fine, but WMS said we could take a credit card to the post office and get a postal order. This was just plain a LIE!!! We ended up having to get an emergency increase on our cash advance limit from Citibank and find a bank, all while being charged $75 by the movers since they refused to unload without the cash. 4. WMS is extremely difficult to deal with once they have your deposit. Oh, and we were 6+ months pregnant at this time, making it really hard to do things like unload our stuff. Miserable experience. Do not use them.

World Moving services told me that their only job was to schedule a reputable local moving company to transport my belongings from LA. to FL. (to act as an agent). I paid them more than $1000 to do this. The local moving company, Jenn and Greg's moving out of San Antonion, Texas is who WM scheduled for me. (Jenn and Greg's received the other $1200.) Both companies were amazingly difficult to deal with, one saying it's the other's fault and no one taking responsibility for what went wrong. The mover showed up one day late and two hours late that day. I stress that ONE mover showed up to moved a fully furnished 3rd floor apt. The moving co. was informed that they would need at least two movers (for my heavy furniture) and a pulley system to remove my couch over my balcony since it would not fit through the front door. They told me there would be an extra charge for this and I agreed. Then ONE mover showed up with little equipment and took no action to get my couch out. It took him more than 5 hours to move my boxes alone, and creeping up on my deadline to be out of the apt, I called friends for help. It took 3 of my friends and their equipment to remove my heavy furniture and the couch over the balcony. The owner, Greg, offered me $150 for my friends' time and nothing more. It took more than 8 hours for the mover to put all my items in his truck. I was told it would take 3 hours for the entire job. Once it arrived in Florida, 2 days late, SIX of my boxes were missing and several pieces of furniture were damaged. When I told Greg about this, he said he wasn't allowed to offer any more compensation for my troubles, because World Moving told him so. I asked WM and of course, they denied they ever told Greg that. I feel that for $2200, I should have received better customer service, ALL of my belongings on time, and maybe an apology. I highly recommend NOT using World Moving Services or Jenn and Greg's Moving.
