Contrary to what the first reviewer said, I have had a Power Rider for at least 8 years. It was sturdily built and still works as well as it did. I do not use it as often as I should but I still use it. One thing I have always appreciated is that it's not only solid but quiet. It's makes absolutely no noise so it does not bother the neighbors or other people in the room. One can even watch television while you're working out without headphones or such. If something fell off I would check to make sure no bolts or welds were loose. It's always possible to get a defective product or one damaged in transportation especially if you buy it used. The work out can be excellent if you get the concept. You are using both your arms and your legs simultaneously but you can vary the balance depending on where you have the handlebars set and which foot rest you use. Its a variation of the glider machine which is very easy on the body as you use your own weight for the resistance. You can emphasize t... Read more

i used a power rider and in about two weeks the handle bars come 0ff, i mean the metal tubing just peeled open, it did not break at the weld, but the handle bar tubing, god what a hunk of junk.

Pretty mediocre, but it's to be expected for the price, I suppose. Probably better for significantly overweight people, as your body weight determines the resistance. I am 5'10" 175 and in pretty bad cardio shape, and it's pretty tough for me to get my heart rate up on this machine. I eventually start sweating, and I can feel the exercise in my shoulders a bit, but I don't feel like it's working my legs out well enough. It's nothing like using a decent rowing machine.

It works well and it's easy to do. I'm 56, a diabetic, and wanted to loose around 40 lbs. I hate riding bike, so I bought a used Power Rider instead. I began with 15 minutes every day, 7 DAYS A WEEK, increasing the time by 5 minutes every 3 days or so. The first week I LOST 2 POUNDS and have lost steadily about 2 pounds a week. Needless to say I lost 41 pounds in a little more than 5 months and feel great, since the Power Glider works out a large amount of muscle groups. Not bad, for a used piece of equipment that cost me $10 in a Thrift store!

Here's a good piece of equipment for those who want to stay or get trim and toned. It is easy to use,set up and adjust. It's essentially like the old playground horse swing where you pulled the handles and pushed the pedals to make the horse move.It uses your weight as the resistance. It's pretty comfortable and operates smoothly, bringing in to play several major muscle groups.(Upper Back,Brachialis,Thighs,Glutes)Sort of a combination of a rowing movement and a squat-but not with too much weight-making it a good aerobic exercise.
