I loved this movie. I think Sissy did a great job of playing Loretta. Infact she seemed to really take over her life. That was an excellent job. Sissy Spacek is a great actress and she really put her heart and soul into this movie. It was a great story of Loretta. It's nice to hear how people rise and fall and rise again. It gives all of us hope.

I wasn't even a Loretta Lynn fan and I found this Film great.

One of the better made biographies. Loretta Lynn hand picked Sissy Spacek to portray her in this biography of her life. She did an excellent job and won a well deserved academy award. Since Loretta Lynn was very much involved with this movie {along with her husband} this seems like about the most honest account of her life up to the early 1970s possible.
