They say Antonio Gates will break all of Tony Gonzalez's tight end receiving records. Yes, he is on pace to do that, but Tony G. has yet to slow down with at least two - three solid years left. Gates is more injury prone than Gonzalez also, I think it's unlikely he stays healthy enough during his career to break Tony's records.

Has the numbers week in and week out. He will probably go down as the best tight end in the game.

Probably the best recieving tight end in the NFL. Although there are several tight ends out to prove themselves worthy, he is all alone with Tony Gonzalez. They both have amazing physical abilities. I would rate Gonzalez just a little better though for being a better blocker and a little better at shedding tackles, though Gates is probably the faster one.

As long as he avoids injuries he could break every Tight End record out there.

Gates is arguebly the best TE in the league. A big guy his nimble and has soft hands. He has so much raw talent in him, he will get better.

He's one of the Charger's triple threats that includes Drew Brees and LaDainian Tomlinson.
