 | EschewObfuscation (61) 12/10/2005 | Now, it's funny. I remember her for her outlandish hats. She was a Congresswoman from New York, as liberal as you get, worked on the ERA (look it up), was vehemently against the Vietnam War, I didn't realize she had run for mayor of NYC in 1977 (who was the mayor then, Abe Beame? John Lindsey?) and lost the democrat Senatorial bid in 1976 when Daniel Patrick Moynihan was elected, which seat Hillary Clinton now holds.
She died in the late 1990's, nearly 80 years old, was of Russian/Jewish heritage. She was a liberal democrat in the absolute heyday of liberal democrats in the US. They dominated both houses of Congress, the presidency, the Supreme Court and the press. How did they blow it?
