 | callitdowntheline75 (53) 08/31/2006 | Now THIS man was a true liberal. Paul Wellstone stood for everything liberal. And whether you liked Wellstone or not, there was NEVER any question about where he stood on the issues. If anything, Wellstone was never a fake and would often be the first to stake his claim on any political position or cause. Wellstone was extremely proud of who he was and what he represented, and literally devoted his life and career by passionately defending his stances (and standing firmly), even amidst the backlash he was likely to encounter (unlike a certain self-important lead singer who conveniently shifts her stances about the current President to appease international crowds, then apologizes when her group suffers a major backlash over her comments- only to recant her insincere apology by saying "[Bush] doesn't deserve any respect!" when the political winds are against him). Wellstone never once wavered about his views, nor did he about his beliefs, and without question would today be at the front and center leading the opposition against the President on most (if not all) issues. Make no mistake, Paul Wellstone was indeed a noted (and sincerely devoted) liberal who was willing to risk everything because he truly did believe in the liberal causes he forcefully stood for.
