My favorite "Fictional" band.

Anyone who hasn't heard them yet, I suggest you check a few of their songs out.

(New album coming out soon!)

For a band that hasn't actually been seen in person; they're one of the best out there.

They're certainly different, and I must say I enjoyed the two albums of theirs that I have. There are a couple of real gems on there, and some of their songs are really imaginative.

I downloaded a bunch of their songs off limewire. They're kinda alternative...kinda hip hop...maybe trip-hop?? Im not sure what genre they are but I dig their music

This is an interesting group whose stylistic approach is very eclectic. They do it all from ska, hip-hop, punk to heavy metal. Very hard to pigeonhole them into any one genre. They are what is known as a "Virtual Group" who employs four fictional characters into the line-up: 2D, Murdoc, Noodle and Russel. The group was actually formed by Damon Albarn of "Blur" fame and Jamie Hewlett, who was the co-creater of the comic book "Tank Girl". Gorillaz hit the big time in 01 with their single "Clint Eastwood", a catchy little number with ska and rap elements woven into it. Other standout tracks from their debut include "Rock the House" and "Tommorow Comes Today". I hate MTV passionately, but the videos these guys churn-out are highly entertaining and are part of their charm. I'm not familiar with their whole canon but their debut effort is very fun listening and well worth the price.
